My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

Are you already a Xfinity customer and just taking advantage of this deal? If so, when you placed the order, did your internet get cut off the same day?
I am a current customer. I haven't been home since I put the order in, but none of my devices that are internet connected have said they've lost connection. I did get a Comcast call that I couldn't take which was about canceling the account but I don't think it'll happen until tomorrow at minimum. We'll see...I'll update later...

Are you guys getting $100 installation fees also?
If you've never had ANY internet at your address, that's why you might be seeing the $100 install fee. I have a new construction townhouse that just has the raw wires coming in without the little "screwy thing" (couldn't think of the name Smilie to connect the wires to your router. So the install fee covers the tech crimping the little screwy thing to the coax cable. At 2 other addresses, in the same town, there was internet in the past so I see the $0 install fee. That's just my guess without any other info. Good luck!

Hmm what are the steps you take? How much downtime are you without internet for?
I just call them up and tell them I want to set up a new account and I am buying the modem from the old tenant, usually gets done with a phone call in 20-30 minutes

Also, Xfinity accounts have Peacock Premium (with ads). Ads is okay for English Premier League, but it's probably bad for sitcoms like The Office. Can upgrade to no ads for 5$/month.

I was able to get the plan on my existing account by contacting them on Reddit. I find their Reddit support better than phone or chat.

Had already placed an order on my wife's account, so I will have to cancel that now. This might also have been the reason they gave me the rate, my account already had a cancellation request pending. They canceled the cancellation and switched to this plan.

I now have 200/100 for $35.
Where exactly do we see this 100 or 200.Mbps upload you got to order to see this? Ridiculous.

You went with 25 plus 10 for xfinity connect add on right?

How do I do this? I have a mobile and internet. Should I now cancel my current and restart a subscription?
I have a feeling that since you have mobile 'cancel and switch' will be a lot more difficult. You will probably need to port your cell number to the new account while your old service is still active. This is why 'bundling' is such a bad idea (which is exactly why they want you to do it)

Can I use this included equipment as just the modem and keep using my Orbi router with 2 additional satellites to cover the whole house and property?
Yes. When you get the Xfinity modem, set it up first with a laptop and then login to the modem and turn it on the bridge mode. Thus, it essentially disables the router part of the device and turns into a modem. I have the xfinity XB7 router + modem as part of a gig speed for $80 deal from December with X-Fi Advanced free for 24 months. This includes unlimited data. Was worth it for me.

Anyone know how quickly I could sign up for this deal if I cancel my current service? I have T-Mobile home internet that could hold me over for a couple days if I have any xfinity down time

That perk is permanently ending in three months for everyone.

Just signed up for the most basic plan June of last year but as always it's never about keeping customers it's about getting new ones.

r/Comcast_Xfinity has official Xfinity reps. Just make a post that you want the new plan. They will send you a message asking for your service address and text/email verification etc.

I guess the best way is to openly explain that you want the new rate and would be willing to go through the whole new customer/cancellation process and if they could instead give you the rate on your account right away.

I think I'm going to have to end up paying the $100. I live in a condo and last time I switched from comcast to WOW a tech needed to come out and go into the common storage area and unplug one cable and plug in another.

When I add xFi Complete to my order it says "Up to 10x faster upload speeds" on one page and "Upload speeds up to 100 Mbps" somewhere else.

Yes, $25 plus $10 for xFi Complete.
