My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

It shouldn't take too long. I got an 'equipment has shipped' email already and I put the order in this morning around 7 a.m. EST.
I use my own modem, so I don't nee equipment. Reading other people's posts, it seems like a quick turnaround, but my current service hasn't been cancelled or anything. I did get a text message saying my order (through the new account) was confirmed though. I'm guessing they'll cancel my current plan, then I can set up this new plan? Or, do I need to cancel the current plan first? I'd hate to cancel it if the new plan isn't ready lol...

Where exactly do we see this 100 or 200.Mbps upload you got to order to see this? Ridiculous.

You went with 25 plus 10 for xfinity connect add on right?
Here is a screenshot where it shows the "Up to 10x faster upload speeds". The actual 100 Mbps upload speed was only shown after I created new account and was about to submit the order.

I did the same thing as you. I own my own modem and had unfortunately just signed up for this same plan at $63 a month (ouch). I ended up creating a 2nd account and signing up for the deal as a customer moving to the address. When it finished signing up it automatically cancelled service on my 1st account. All I had to do then was download the Xfinity app on my phone, unplug my modem, login to the new account on my phone, and run the modem setup. Took maybe 5 minutes in total.

there is no contract.
anyone know if/how to release your existing cm mac to reuse modem for the dog?
I actually just had to power cycle it once, then enter the mac when installing on the xfinity app. In the past I've used chat to release my mac address.

Same here. Only got confirmation email. But I did check my old account cancellation order is still pending. My new account number new order is also in pending. I didn't know how long will they move to next step like shipping. Yeah I don't need new equipment but shipping looks to be the necessary step in this process. If can keep same account number will be more smooth.

Thank god for competition from others like T-Mobile home internet. Otherwise these bums would still be charging high prices due to their near monopoly.

I wish mine was that instant. Glad it worked out for you though.

May I ask which step were you in when you reactivate your modem? Step 2 "confirm" or step 3 "prepare" (I assume in this step Xfinity placed the shipment) ? I'm still in step 2

I'm a current customer and when I go into the plans section, I can see this $25 plan available to switch to. Has anybody actually done this and can we switch to it as an existing customer?

Also, do we have to use their equipment? Since they aren't giving unlimited data with their equipment on this plan, is it necessary to switch to their gateway?

Were you able to qualify for this promo price as a current customer?
