My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

Update: Because I see this deal has reached FP, I noticed the FP bulletpoint stated this offer was for unlimited data. This is not entirely accurate for all situations at the current price point. I've notified a moderator to see if they can get that fixed. But for now, I'll update my post about this.
Wait…you have 115mbps upload on a 200mbps download plan? Can you post a screenshot

r/Comcast_Xfinity has official Xfinity reps. Just make a post that you want the new plan. They will send you a message asking for your service address and text/email verification etc.

I guess the best way is to openly explain that you want the new rate and would be willing to go through the whole new customer/cancellation process and if they could instead give you the rate on your account right away.
Did they make a new account for you or upgrade your current one? I signed up under the same login and it made a new account for me. Now I'm being told I have to pay a $30 early termination fee since it automatically cancels my old account

Not the OP, but I get the same speeds. It will depend on your area.

I'm an existing customer not in contract. Chatted them and they are "creating a new account" for me. We'll see how this goes and if they mess anything up 🙄

I have my own modem and router, should I opt for the XFi Gateway (free for 24 mo)?

Whats the benefit of the XFi Gateway?
I'm interested in this too (as I also own my equipment) and/but, so far, it seems pretty clear you don't get unlimited data unless you add the XFi Complete as well.

While the XFi gateway is free, the XFi Complete is $10/mo...

Let us know how it goes. I'd prefer to go this route instead of cancelling and signing up my spouse.

Why are they giving extra discount for signing up for autopay using bank account? What's the catch here? With the bank account we can't obviously dispute charges. Is that why they are giving more discount?

Do we have to return the Xfinity gateway after 2 years if we do the $10 Xfinity connect option?

Are you already a Xfinity customer and just taking advantage of this deal? If so, when you placed the order, did your internet get cut off the same day?
wondering this. I created a new account but now I just basically have two active accounts. how do I "activate" the new one? I don't need the free self install kit they are shipping.
