My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

Leave Comcast, I did a year ago to Verizon. Home internet and I pay less and never had to deal with creeping rate increase, and best of all, there's no data caps!

The xFi compelte comes with that crappy router/modem. I decided to use my own router and modem, and, for some reason, xfinity cannot detect my usage. Despite i have unlimited data, I use about 2/3 TB data per month, and my account still shows 0 gb usage. I called them to try to fix the issue, but the CS just say everything is normal.

So I bit the bullet and just went for it. Here is my scenario:

1. I have an existing service with Xfinity under my name. 1 month left on the contract
2. I created a new account under my wife's name and purchased the new service with the same address.
3. I immediately got a cancellation email for my existing service, however my internet is still working.
4. We shall see if they cut me off eventually or if they will wait until I activate with my new xFi modem being shipped with the new service. Also assuming I will pay a small early termination fee since I still had 1 month left on my existing service.

Were you required to put some Service start date while ordering online?

I just switched from an Xfinity plan at around $60 for 100 mbps to the 200 mbps at $25. It's definitely a solid 200+ mbps download (Seattle area) based on the Speedtest app. The fine print says if you use their cable modem/router equipment (free for 2 years), data is unlimited. Otherwise it is capped or you have to pay for extra for unlimited.

Was an existing account but I think it was a not a long term contract. But who knows—maybe they'll give you the new pricing anyway. Never hurts to ask.

I recommend not to opt for store pickup for self install kit. My local store tried to do a aggressive upsell to add xfinity mobile lines when i went to pickup gateway. I walked out without budging but it was 20 minutes of my time wasted

Nice Deal. I was paying $110 for the 800MBPS Blast Plan for years. I just signed up for the 400MBPS plan. For anyone first timing this like me, here's what i did:

I signed up for a new account, i selected the plan (i did 400mbps and have my own modem), entered my CC info. Typed my home address, it gave me a message about address already exists and i selected new customer moving in. My old account got an email about cancellation 5 mins after. Unplugged my modem for 5-10 mins. Downloaded the Xfinity app, reconnected the modem and use the app to setup the modem again.

I have a current account and was able to sign up for this deal. The only email I got so far is one stating that my "Xfinity ID is now linked to another account" however, I see no evidence of the other account when I log in. Guess I have to wait for the equipment to arrive and activate.
