My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

You still need a xfinity mobile plan activated to get this price, right?

Thanks for sharing that. Did you happen to learn when the cancellation would actually take effect? My cancellation email said 12:00 AM on 3/13, but my internet is still very much alive.
I still had service even with the cancellation email. Once i got email that my new service was active I just ended up unplugging my modem for 10 min and replugging it back in. then just setting up the same modem with the xfinity app.

I called them yesterday to move to this plan and they put me on a 1yr contract 75MBPS for $25, I have a mobile line also.

Now, I don't know how to get this to 200Mbps, how did you get $20? mobile? line?
I just have one line.

They are the absolute worst company...just read their reviews...another reason they changed their name from Comcast to xfinity...have to deal with that every yr or 2 yrs now

I would guess because you're not a "new customer" (as in not having had service within the last 90 days or whatever their limit is), you probably aren't eligible for this... I've tried signing up with it too, though I am on contract, and it keeps signing me out. It's funny how Comcast/Xfinity can raise their prices, even when under contract, but we can't switch to a lower cost promo like this

Does anyone else use more than 1.2 TB? I regularly do over the monthly limit but Xfinity says that in the minority that do. I figured with 4K and all the devices in the house this is the norm now.
To my understanding, even 4k streaming doesn't actually take that much thruput to render this. However, if you're big into games, downloads of a single AAA game can take up to 200GB/game. Install enough games, and you're over the cap without much strain. Also, consider that if you have a console (xbox, ps5, etc.) plus PC gaming, you're likely to be installing even more games. And when/if your game gets corrupted by a service platform (UbiConnect, Epic Games, etc.) sometimes you have to re-download the whole game.
The only other scenario where your data cap might be reached may be fairly common:
You've got a family of 4, let's say. Everyone is streaming video all the time, plus the kids are installing and playing games onine. 1.2TB might not be enough. Comcast says a very small percentage of their customers reach that data cap, and in practice, for some it's probably the fear of breaching it that keeps them in line, as $10 per each 50gb extra is robbery.

I did online chat, got to their "loyalty department," and while the person said she couldn't give me the deal because I'm an existing customer, she was able to disconnect my service and then reconnect it a minute later and give me the deal.

The only problem was that she disconnected me without authorization, and it took an hour to get back because I had to use my mobile device to re-register my cable modem's MAC address. The process wasn't very smooth but if I had known what was happening, I could've asked to time it better. Also, if I knew I just had to activate the modem on the Xfinity app, that would've helped too and would've only been a few minute outage.

But now my bill says it's $72 and I have $37 a month discount and a $5 discount for autopay (credit card). So that's good. Plus, my upload speed doubled from 5 mbps to 10 mbps. Yay?

You're right regarding the downloading aspect of games. Streaming 4K though....those feeds are usually very compressed and would not be a true indicator of needing an unlimited plan.

I suggest to everyone to truly pay attention to who you are as a person/family and not who you anticipate to be....as for the past 4 years I've averaged 500GB a month with a doorbell camera, multiple streams, and downloads. Far from the need of unlimited.

Not paying modem fees outweighs unlimited internet for me.

i download more games than i can play each month and i still never reach the cap. most games are between 10 and 60 gigs. there's probably even a minority of gamers who reach the limit. i also share the internet with my wife. this month we've used 400 gigs so far. average 600-900 . if you have kids and they all game i could see reaching the limit. but most people won't. speed is also grossly overvalued by most. once you have enough, more is largely worthless except for faster downloads of huge files. when i had 25-50mbps gaming was never impacted even while the wife is streaming. 200 is a bonus to download games faster.. but even the huge games download in such a reasonable amount of a time i would never pay extra for more than 200 (at this current time). again, families with many people gaming/streaming at once i could see potentially benefiting from more.
