My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

Update: Because I see this deal has reached FP, I noticed the FP bulletpoint stated this offer was for unlimited data. This is not entirely accurate for all situations at the current price point. I've notified a moderator to see if they can get that fixed. But for now, I'll update my post about this.
Is there anywhere that states that xfi complete gives you a higher upload speed? I've been paying for gigabit service just for the higher upload speed, and if I could do it with this then I'd much rather.

I am planning to take connection under my wife's name, I already have xfinity service at same address under my name.

Does anyone know when will the old service gets cancelled if I apply a new connection at same address? I dont want to be without internet just in case xfinity cancels the old service as soon as I apply for a new one at same place.

I think Comcast would be happy to charge both of you for as long as you'll let them. They really shouldn't disconnect your service until you tell them to though.

Seeking anyone with knowledge on best execution on this for a current customer suffering from increased prices due to bill creep! Is it possible to create a new account at same address? T.I.A. for any guidance or determination one way or the other. Smilie
Cancel and order the next day. You become a new customer. You can drop off equipment the same place you can pick up equipment. I see some alternate the name they put the account in. I just alternate my email address and before I cancel, I remove my phone number from the account, so I can use the same phone number. Minor inconvenience for saving major money and only being down for less than a few hours.

Also. If you order the new service and say you "moved to" they will disconnect the old service to turn on the new service

But will they disconnect the old service before you have received your equipment (assuming you are getting equipment)? I use my own modem and router, as it doesn't appear that the xfi complete will make any difference for me aside from costing more money (I'm already unlimited on data and it doesn't appear that my upload speeds will be increased), so if they cancel mine right away I wouldn't really care, but I would think that would be quite annoying to someone that was moving out of a house just to have their service cancelled without their knowledge.

Is there anyway to get unlimited and faster uploads without the gateway? I'd rather use my own and not have it in bridge mode after reading reports of Xfinity system doing weird things in bridge mode like completely dropped a connection if too much bandwidth is used at once

I just ordered the service under my wife's name also. She works from home so can't be without internet. I plan to cancel before I install the new service. How difficult is is to cancel the service? Is it just a matter of calling or live chatting support?

had same issue just paid their bill on March 3rd. I chatted with a Comcast rep and they said to ignore the upcoming bill. they said they will also prorate and instead I'll get $37 back.
Thanks for sharing that. Did you happen to learn when the cancellation would actually take effect? My cancellation email said 12:00 AM on 3/13, but my internet is still very much alive.

How were you able to do this? When I try to change or upgrade plan, it only shows 200Mbps at $45/mo. Did you sign up for the plan before you logged into your account and sign to order the plan in the end?
Logged in as stated: "I just logged in to my Xfinity account and upgraded the existing 75Mbps $45/month plan to the 200Mbps $20/month plan!"

I am looking at the 400 mbps plan for $35 since I have kids and since it has a $75 gift card perk. Isnt this a better deal? What am I missing?

Existing customer here. Called in yesterday and asked for deal. Was told no.
Asked rep to cancel account and give me the deal, was told yes.
Was on the phone for over half an hour as she took care of almost everything.
They really wanted me to be home during the process, to give my mac address/cycle my modem, but I was at work. Service is due to terminate tonight according to the email I received (despite being told by CSR that it would terminate immediately), so I'll power cycle the modem when I wake up tomorrow.

Data cap here in Chicago, 1.2TB/mo. No contract, 24 months at $25. Was on a $50/mo deal ($32 discount). Saving $600 for the next 2 years. ATT Fiber was just installed in my neighborhood, but the price/speeds are still higher than Comcast.
Were you on a contract? Do you need to pay the early termination fee?

What do you think? All they want is for us to put our cell phones with them? So if I change to xfonity with my cell it woul be Verizon. I am pretty sure they have a senior plan
