My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

I wanted to add xFI Complete to get the faster upload speeds, however the CS rep said that isn't possible if I'm using my own cable modem. I needed to rent their modem, and then xFI Complete could be added for $20 (modem rental + xFI complete).

That sucks. I would really like a faster upload speed, but they're killin me here...

Existing customer here. Called in yesterday and asked for deal. Was told no.
Asked rep to cancel account and give me the deal, was told yes.
Was on the phone for over half an hour as she took care of almost everything.
They really wanted me to be home during the process, to give my mac address/cycle my modem, but I was at work. Service is due to terminate tonight according to the email I received (despite being told by CSR that it would terminate immediately), so I'll power cycle the modem when I wake up tomorrow.

Data cap here in Chicago, 1.2TB/mo. No contract, 24 months at $25. Was on a $50/mo deal ($32 discount). Saving $600 for the next 2 years. ATT Fiber was just installed in my neighborhood, but the price/speeds are still higher than Comcast.

I would pay the extra $5/month to have my CC company to fall back on if/when Comcast farks me.

I went through the link here and it somehow created a second account. I went whining to the chat about what the hell, how is there two accounts for the same person at the same address, I requested they delete my old one and let me keep the new one.

I guess it worked, although I have to check on it to make sure the old one actually cancels in however many days.

Ah xfinity. We were looking for a home and we put 5 tickets in with xfinity to see if they service our top 5 favorite places we were considering buying because it was important that our pick had high speed internet.
They said they do indeed service the home I currently live in.
So based on that and other factors, we put the contract in for the home, spruced up the place a bit and when we were ready and excited to get our xfinity service, I called to have them come set it up and they say… "sorry, we don't service that address"… 🤨

These people are fraudulent as hell.

Thank God for Starlink. Xfinity is trash. But so is everything else. Gotta pick your favorite flavor of trash.

Never sign up to a contract with Xfinity, they regularly have deals for new customers which you can access by cancelling your uncontacted service and signing up again. I've done it twice in 4 months.
I signed up for a 400mbps offer in December for $30 a month. Just cancelled and went with this offer because I would rather unlimited internet for $35 a month. The lower speed of 200mbps is fast enough for our household.

I'm sure within the next 24 months there will be another great offer and your 24 months price lock starts again.

Switched to Fios after being a longtime customer of Comcast (30+ years after inheriting my parents account). Service in my area was fine with no cap but fios' 300/300 for $30 with 10 year price guarantee was too good to pass up. I gave Comcast a chance to play ball but they were completely unwilling to drop my monthly below $50 (which admittedly isn't bad) and their uploads are still meh.

Funnily enough the Fios tech wanted to cut my Comcast line so he wouldn't have to drill a new hole. I told him absolutely not, as there's a decent chance I'll go back to Comcast if Verizon tries to weasel their way out of the price lock. He ended up cutting the existing Verizon coax line we had for telephone (which we cancelled in 2019… I doubt we'll ever get it again) as he claimed that if we got phone service with them again they'd route it through the ONT.

I have a current account and was able to sign up for this deal. The only email I got so far is one stating that my "Xfinity ID is now linked to another account" however, I see no evidence of the other account when I log in. Guess I have to wait for the equipment to arrive and activate.
I got the same email, but the plan didn't change. I did it again as a new customer (selected I'm new and moving to this address). I then got the linked account email as well as order confirmation.

You can call Xfinity once the new service is showing in your account and ask them to cancel your existing service.

You'll might need to reboot your modem and activate it on the Xfinity app once your existing service is terminated.

If I currently have Xfinity and xfinity mobile will I get penalized if I sign up with this Xfinity offer under my spouse's name? How would I go about linking the xfinity mobile account with the new home account?
Yeah, if you got 5 lines, you'll see a $125 charge every month.

I don't think you can link the account since it's different names. You probably have to do a transfer. There's stuff involved like DPP credit, # line eligibility, etc along with a list of restrictions in just transferring a line...so it's not just a copy&paste type thing.

Your spouse will have to call XM (maybe chat) and then the rep will probably call you for the PIN and authorization to move the lines....according to their FAQ. Everything has to be 1:1 between the accounts.

There have been people who have tried and ended up losing a phone number when the rep accidentally cancelled the line instead of transferring. But that could be because XM was relatively new back then....and/or because it's a rare request/action.

Your equipment likely can't handle 800 so it's either your modem, wifi router or the specific device. My old laptop for example tops out at 250, while my work laptop tops out at 600. My new phone goes for 750 so pretty close to advertised speed. Before upgrading my router 2 years ago, I was getting less than half of the speed.
