My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

Unless you using their modem, otherwise they are not going to do anything and blaming your modem problem which they don't support.
It's your modem that limited your actual speed. I had the same issue; I signed up for 600Mbps but only got 400 max. The tech came out and tested it. I bought a new modem, and it's been all good.

What gateways are you folks getting ? I got a 200Mbps plan with Xfinity complete for $10 more and I got Arris TG1682G gateway giving me roughly only 100Mbps speeds.

Aren't they supposed to send better gateways for those paying the $10 add-on?

I canceled my service 2 weeks ago, and the service will be disconnected in a week. I called xifinity to sign up for this promotion, and they told me that I can not get this deal because this promotion is only for new customers, and I should be the non customer at least for 3 month...
does anyone have an issue with signing up?

You should easily get around 200MB to 240MB... try restarting the gateway (unplug power, wait 2 minutes, plug back in) and see if it fixes it.

If ssme issue, try activating the gateway (again) using the MAC ID on the gateway.

Good luck!

That's what they are "supposed" to tell you. You can just sign up online without waiting. You don't even have to use a different name, email, or phone number.

My husband and I have Xfinity Mobile and Xfinity internet ($90/mo) - if we switched to a different name would it mess up our mobile service?
I switched to visible to transfer my number. Then signed up new under my spouse. Her name wasn't on my account though. I'm not sure if it's an option, but I then did the promo at the time (December) of $400 off new iPhones and then a $500 gift card for internet plus transferring phones. So 1300 plus the $1050 I got for selling my phones pretty much paid for new iPhones. They also gave me an extra $20 off my internet plan so it was 800mbps plus xfi modem with unlimited data so that ends up at $35/mo for 2 years.

I signed up as new account so there was no mix up with old account terms. New account has a different account # and offer terms. And that was my preference to have a clean slate.

My experience with xFinity was horrible. Their techs are awesome, but their service is garbage. I moved into a new apartment and thought I'd give them a try because I dislike Verizon as a company (even though their service is stellar). I bought my own router (yes, it was compatible with their gig service that I ordered), they installed everything, and after the guy was done, everything was fine, I was getting the advertised speeds.

Fast forward to coming home from work and I'm not getting even 1/10 of the advertised speed. Reboot everything, blah blah, nothing. Still getting
That's funny I got that kind of customer service rep too. Ended the phone call with a 3 min speech of how I'm the most wonderful person in the world.

I did exactly this but not in incognito mode. Even though I received email stating my old account will be cancelled midnight it was still active past the following afternoon. When I called the customer service, the agent informed that my account was scheduled to be active until March 29 to give me time to return any equipment from the old account and I would be billed until then unless I stopped billing. I requested the agent to stop billing immediately and now I have 10 days to return the equipment. I suggest you call tomorrow if the old account is still active past mid morning tomorrow and if you have have already activated the new account.
How do you check if the old account is still active?
