My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

So I have a sb8200 that's currently connected to the new service should I just keep using that with my orbi setup or do I have to switch? Thanks

$72 is cheaper than I pay for Spectrum. As soon as we get an alternative, the price will go down.
A classic example of "Monopoly kills the customer", I used to have Google Fiber which was 1Gbps at $70 (incl taxes and fees) and the price stayed put for as long as I was with them. They never BSed with these offers by hyping the price and then offering the customer the actual price. All of these old timers (ATT, Xfinity, Spectrum etc) will learn their lessons when new gen companies (Starlink, Kuiper etc) join the competition

Received the XB3 which is rated up to 600mbps, DOCSIS 3.0. I'm surprised they would send an older modem for the next 2 years of service.

You can get these for less than $35 on eBay, how do they get away with charging $10/month for it?

Anyway, I had the SB6183 which was just as good but modem only. At least the XB3 (Cisco) has 4 ethernet ports built-in which could be a little useful. It's amazing how much the price of these have fallen over the years. I'm hoping there will be at least a little better interoperability with the Xfinity network and that support will be more useful if something happens.

You can't turn off wifi in the app, here are instructions for turning it off and accessing more settings:

Thanks for posting this deal. I'm under a one year contract paying $55/month ending in May. I noticed early termination fee 110. How are people dealing with this? Biting the termination fees and goin with $25/month plan or fee won't apply if I add the new plan in the same account as my current plan which I guess will get cancelled after new account?
ETF of $110 (for 12month term) is likely to be reduced $10 per month. Which means, even if you need to pay the ETF, the amount is likely to be around to be $30.
I am not sure whether ETF will be charged to you since you will have internet service with Xfinity; but I would go for lowering monthly bill

I really wish Comcast would work on upload speeds more than download speeds. 200/10 is crazy.

It's fine. Better than most other post paid plans we've had for the price. Phones are paid off so that's not an issue.
if your phones are paid off call and ask for a better deal. I did last year and now I have no contract $40 a month for 800mbp

Why am I paying for 800mbs but only getting around 200? If I downgrade to 200, will i get less?
There's a number of reasons why you're getting less than 800mbps. I pay for 1.2 gbps and get anywhere from 800-200mbps depending on the device and how far away I am from my router. If that's the max you're getting, either upgrade your router or downgrade your plan.

Did you test wired or wireless?
