My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

Is this offer only online or can I just walk in to a store to get it ?
I signed up online and picked up the gateway at local store same day and active the service, as lone as you receive order confirmation.

Yep it did later in the day.

On the new plan already with the higher speed. Didn't even have to switch equipment.

As I have my own modem and router, just had to power cycle the modem and activate.

I ordered online, and did the extra 10$ for 10x upload speeds (xFi Complete)... The Xfinity store gave me an xb6 and I am getting 230/80 for speeds. Is everyone else getting similar speeds? I was hoping to hit 100 on the upload.

Received an XB3 yesterday afternoon- man this thing is huge! While I don't like the monstrous size I do appreciate that it has 4 Ethernet ports. Going to see if I can try getting an xb7.

For those using their own equipment, what are you guys using?

Finally got around to hooking up the XB3. Did the Unlimited data because with all of us home, we've maxed out a couple of times. First test - 238 down, 11.8 up. Going to set up in bridge mode with my router and see how it goes.

Somewhere in this thread, someone said that you can sign up for auto draft from your checking account, but I think, that you can pay with a credit card without penalty? Can anyone verify this?
They wouldnt give me the extra $10 off my current plan with my auto payment with credit card...like i said before, not giving a another business my bank account number these days!

I don't see an option for store pick up. How did you do it?

What modem do you own? I'm wondering if it's DOCSIS 3.0 or 3.1...

You can force cancellation and switch to the new account. I did it myself in the Xfinity app. Pretty sure can be done on the website
