My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

Did anyone else get a crappy old modem when they signed up for Xfi Complete?
I want to use my own modem, but they said to get access to unlimited data via Xfi Complete, I need to use their modem. Does anyone know if this is accurate?

Yes it's accurate. It's in the agreement. You have to activate w/I 30 days and keep it connected or you'll loose unlimited. It's $30 instead of $10 if you want to use your own modem. Had to put my sb8200 onto the shelf for now. Want to see if I come close to cap, if not I'll cancel it and go back to my modem without complete. But the ugly old brick seems to be working ok. 🤞

To det1988 - I tried this and it keeps saying my husband has an account even though the account is in my name. It's going by the address. How did you make alternating your name and your wife's name work?

So they will starting charging for Flex in June? I thought Peacock ends in June but Flex is still free.
Oh maybe that's what I saw. The free Flex is nice. 5 a month for an extra one isn't worth it, a roku or other box is cheaper in one year.

bah they want $39 for "self install plus" which involves a technician coming out and in what way is that self install... really makes this too annoying
Per the terms, it depends on if the address (including the suffix, unit a vs floor 1 etc) had active service within the last year. At least in my region. I put in floor 2 and it said 100 pro install. I put in unit b and gave me self service. And checked another address, no Comcast in the last year and it's self service plus if you say it had service but they can't confirm. It's dumb.

What's the early payment trick, just submit a manual credit card payment when your bill comes out? Do you still get all the same discounts doing it? And then I suppose remember to do it each month? Still have to give them your bank account info?

My Xfinity internet service was 400mpbs at $39.99 for 12month. I was at the last month of the promised rate, and the monthly bill was going to change to $99.99. I was looking for the way to reduce the future payment.

Thanks to the Slickdeals comments, I could set up the current 200mpbs at $25 for 24months, without term contract.
<btw, I could actually choose to renew the contract by having 12month term, 400mbps at $30/mo for 24 months as existing customer.>
I choose the get the current deal because I want to be ready to get any better deal at any time. (I am also a non-resident of USA but temporal with J visa; I don't know when I will leave!)

Here is what I did;
1) visit xfinity website using incognito mode (chrome), and find the prices by using the current address. (I chose as I am a new customer moving to this address)
2) choose 200mpbs deal and customize (flex device, xFi etc; my place said xFi complete for 20/mo so I just skipped it)
3) use the same name, phone, email. The system will say they found a matching account. I chose to link. They asked my BOD to verify the ID. Then I chose one of the registered payment option.
4) the order was placed, and I received several emails from Xfinity;
- Your Xfinity accounts are now linked (I see new account number after login with my comcast id)
- We received your cancellation request (service disconnected: internet and TV, as I received a flex device for free - I will return it)
- Thanks for choosing Xfinity
- Thanks, here is your Xfinity order confirmation (200 mbps one)
5) I am waiting for the old service to be stopped, then I will chat on xfinity app to reset my modem/router. (I have my own one, as xfinity did not offer a free rental previously)
6) I will bring the Flex device to one of the Xfinity shop for return. I am going to take a video of it, just for the case that they say the device is not returned

btw I am not sure if slickdeal rebate can work in incognito mode lol
Update 2: I activated internet for 200 mbps. I did not choose to have Flex device this time, and I returned it to local xfinity branch. The old account became "inactive" after the Flex return. (it was shown as "flex" before returning it.) Now I cannot even access to the previous account so I do not know how much they will charge.

What they shipped me was just a coax cable lol..

For the new service, activation was done 3/20. Bill for the new service is already available for $25. Somehow for service period of 3/23-4/22. Everything seems okay. Let's see how the last bill will be processed.

Btw, previous account had an option to "renew" with term contract; "with 1year term" for 400 mbps at $30/mo for 24 month. I do not see it from the new account. No available term contract options and the plan prices shown are ridiculously high. I may check it again long time later tho

+ thinking of getting a new phone from Xfinity for additional $20/mo internet discount
with $500 credit over 24months for the device cost. These two makes around $40/mo discount where the monthly installment for S23 ultra is $50/mo (full price $1200/24mo). One thing makes me hesitate is that I may have to leave USA within next 2 years.

You can do activation on the mobile app. You need to know some code written on your modem/router. You may need to sign-off, turn the app completely off, sign-in again to switch to the new account (if you previously had another one)
It took one day to find this..
