My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

It looks like my existing service is cancelling tonight at midnight. Can I activate the new service before I get my install kit?

I did my activation through the app without waiting for the cancellation. I use my own equipment. The install kit was coax cable for my case.

I selected xFi Complete and went all the way through the order process and on the final page it's still showing 10 Mbps upload. What is the real speed they provide? I started googling and first results show they max out around 35 Mbps even for most expensive plans.

I don't know the detail tho.
xFi complete option says x10 upload speed. There should be mentioned in the option you choose or review page. You will need to receive specific modem from xfinity, and activate the service with it. With the current deal on 200/10, it will be 200/100 I guess.

I don't understand. Why is this a problem exactly?

I mean I routinely only get 6-7 upload wired on gaming consoles. Though I do get 11-12 wireless via Speedtest when checking my speed.

Depends on your area (200/10 vs 200/100) -- if your area is upgraded then you should get faster upload speed with xFi Complete

Someone mentioned if your address has the GIGABIT x2 package available (2000mbps speed) then it should be an upgraded area

If your area isn't upgraded then you'll get XB3 modem -- otherwise they'll send XB6 or XB7 modem

I have 2000mbps package available at my address so upgraded area -- my order confirmation page and email shows "upload speeds as fast as 100mbps" under xFi Complete and they're sending me a XB6 modem for this deal

Yes sign up under someone else's name. They'll activate it and cancel the old service. Very very easy.

When you search your address on Xfinity it will say there's already service at this address. Click I'm moving here as a new customer.
I know deal is dead but for future notice, do they ask for ss#?
