Interestingly, they have removed the offer expiration date when you click "Pricing & other info" details on the offer page. It used to say it ends 3/21 for me.

edit: even though the offer landing page still exists and the expiration date was removed from the "Pricing & other info" fine text, if I actually click through to try to shop for that offer, the 200 mbps plan is now listed at $72. the deal may be well & truly dead unless xfinity decides to bring it back
I still see the deal is available in my area.

I not only see the deal, but now see 400mbs unlimited at $35/month. I signed up a few weeks ago at $40/month. Not worth the hassle for $5, but was definitely worth it to get down from $160.

Looks like the deal is still going on, but we lost the $200 prepaid VISA that came with it yesterday.

if I currently have Xfinity internet, do I need to cancel under current billing name and resign with someone new? How long can I expect to be without internet during the switch?

Thank you in advance!

Yes, I accidentally signed up for this without realizing it truly was making a new account and it went through, even with the same name. I instantly got an email message saying my old account would be cancelled 10 days after the new account was to be activated. They shipped the equipment early, and I got it working, then called to cancel the new one sooner so I could stop being billed for that. Although they might have done it right away too because as far as I'm aware, they absolutely do not allow two accounts at one address.

edit: Only other issues are that if you have any of their equipment, you'll have to get that back to them. I didn't, so no problems for me. I don't know how that affects TV equipment, but having mobile service with them causes issues that you have to resolve by calling and having them attach it to the new account. I didn't want to deal with that and ported out. I would think that someone may give you slack if you try to switch your service like that. As a matter of fact, a guy at their store told me my account was now flagged because of what I did, and that they may take me off the discount if I had no proof that I moved. I assume a different name makes it so there's no problem with this. I haven't heard from them, and I still have the service. I already got billed, so I think I'll be ok. If not, I can cancel and sign up with another name.

Pretty much. But for me since I used the same name and e-mail address, it's still a mess logging in. They credited the remaining days I had left on the original account. Go ahead and activate the new equipment and it'll go from there.
