My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

Seeking anyone with knowledge on best execution on this for a current customer suffering from increased prices due to bill creep! Is it possible to create a new account at same address? T.I.A. for any guidance or determination one way or the other. Smilie
Formerly on xfinity $40 plan. Xfin wanted to bump price up. I said make price 35.00 they refused I cancelled service Feb 9,2023 5 weeks later I now have same service for $25.00. to bad for them and yes in my name again they were just happy to have me back. I think many thousands cancelled internet service. They think internet is indispensable. NOPE

What are the additional taxes on the $25? My Astound internet adds another $13 in extra fees and taxes.

How many days or weeks is the downtime when you swap names & accounts? Trying to figure out how long I'll be without internet since the kids have school.
If you have your own modem, then it may take an hour or so like I described in my last post where we needed a live tech support agent to reactivate the modem after the first account was disconnected and the Xfinity app just showed nothing but an error message when selecting activate own equipment on the new account.

If you get a new modem or the app actually works, then you might be offline for 15-30 minutes.

How soon should you get confirmation emails and such on the new account? Went through the signup, account is created but says it isn't activated.

I just received the XB3 modem from them. Do I have to cancel my existing xfinity service before activating this new modem sent by them? Or does activating this new modem automatically cancel my existing xfinity service?

It has been many years since I have had Comcast/Xfinity service at my house and the cable running to house has been damaged. Does anyone know how much they will charge to run a new cable to the house?

Anyone else getting super slow speeds around peak times?

I have a feeling anyone who got in on this deal is at the bottom of their priority list..

outside is free
inside is expensive. Sometimes it could be a high as $100 per trip.
I suggest that you find another internet company.

This is correct. Spent a good amount of time in their office trying to be able to use any other gateway. Real nice kid had me looking at his screen, trying everything - it literally would not allow him unless I got a more expensive plan

Could you please walk me through the steps like I'm 5? Also, would I need to tweak the address in any way to make it different from the first account?
