My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

OK folks... for those that are curious.

On March 14th, I called and cancelled my 800MB/120 channels plan, which had cost me $127/month. I cancelled with 1 month remaining on my contract.

That same day about 30 minutes after cancelling my old service, I ordered this new service, without their gateway and using same name, phone number, bank account, but using different email address. During checkout it recognized the same phone number I'm assuming, so it asked if I wanted to merge account, I chose NO.

My cable TV & internet was disconnected when I woke up the next day. I unplugged my cable modem, waited 30 seconds, plugged it back in and using the Xfinity app, I put the MAC ID of the old modem and activated it. BINGO!

Keep in mind, depending on your billing cycle, your old Xfinity account may generate a new bill, which mine did, but after calling Xfinity, they informed me that my old account will generate a final bill 30 days after cancellation, and sure enough, after 31 days, my old account showed exactly what I owed, $3.13 after $10 ETF.

My new account was perfectly fine, they pulled $25 out of my bank account on April 7th, which is about 3 weeks after ordering my new service. BTW, make sure you have data on your phone when using the Xfinity app to activate your modem/gateway, because you will no longer have Wifi. Good luck!

I've gotten a couple of physical mailers with this 4/23 expiration date. Have not seen it on the website. I plan on ordering this today or tomorrow. Picked up an Arris S33 on eBay for under $100, since I have no interest in running a 10 year old XB3 Modem. Hopefully mid-split will come soon my corner of the northeast division. but in the meantime I'll take the massive monthly savings on home internet.

Xfinity in my area is such a joke. I can never get even close to the 1.2gbps i'm paying for, 800 on off peak hours at best. And the upload speed is capped at 25mbps.

And the funny thing is, the 800mbps plan would cost more than what I'm paying for the 1.2gb...

I just signed up for this even though my 1 year at 75mbps wasn't up until the end of March.
Ordered Friday, auto cancel of my current account Sunday, installed in 5 minutes Sunday afternoon.
I alternate years with my and my wife's name and use my own hardware.
$25 with no tax for 2 more years. Solid.
Hi, how do you auto cancel? Does that mean you do not need to talk or chat with an agent? Thank you

Can you add the $10 extra for unlimited a few days after or does it have to be with the $25 order ?

I want to sign up for new account under my wifes name.

I currently am using Comcast equipment XB8 gateway which I would like to keep.
I dont want them to send me an older hardware when I sign up for new account.

Is there a way to sign up and keep using their same equipment? I tried searching this forum post for an answer but I didnt see anything clear cut. I saw some info about power cycling here but wasnt sure if this applied to Comcast equipment or if its own equipment.

I signed up for this $25 plan using my checking account as payment. If I prepay a few months in advance with a credit card, will the monthly rate still stay at $25?

I got the xb7 modem/gateway. Should I ask for xb8? I'm quite happy actually with the xb7 performance. I wish I could use the modem and wifi from Xfinity xb7 and let the Ubiquiti be my router. I don't know what they have in these xb7 units but man the wifi signal is crazy good.

I am on the unlimited plan right now so thinking of I should still keep it or not. Would be great to hear from folks who just have the 10Mbos upload on their experience and whether you work from home/do multiple zoom meetings at the same time.

Seeming like we should just turn our flex box back in rather than wait to be charged for service... probably most of us have Peacock from a previous SD post anyway

And now appears to be $15 shipping fee (even for slow shipping) for the gear. I didn't remember that being there at the beginning of the promo.

I opted for store pick-up to not pay any shipping fees.

Does anyone know on in-store pick-up if you wait a few days and then activate does that start the billing period from that date or from the date you signed up for the service?

Nope. I was in the same situation. According to xfinity the xb8 is tied to the old account and has to be turned in.
