My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

Should have a cap unless you pay more for xFi Complete or live in an area without caps -- you can use your own equipment or get their free equip (modem/router combo)

xFi Complete should get you equipment + unlimited data + faster upload speeds if your area has upgraded network (if you see 2gbps plan offered at your address then you should be in an upgraded area)

For me in an upgraded area in March:
$25 plan was 200mb down and 5 or 10mb upload (people getting XB3 modem/router)
$10 xFi complete upgrade made it 200mb down + 100mb up + unlimited data (got better XB6 modem/router since upgraded area)

I put the XB6 in bypass mode just to use it as a modem and turned off public wifi network -- connected it to my own router and works fine

Do we have to use XB3 or can i configure my router TP-Link WiFi 6 Router AX1800 to get the better coverage?

Probably there was gold inside your other xb3. So they wanted it back?
May be.. The XB3 was just working fine but once i perform speed test they ask me to get new modem. I thought i will different one but when the same black box showed up i wasn't sure.

Where in our account we display which devise, we are using?

XB3 should be modem/router combo -- you can use it as modem only via bridge mode and connect your own router:

So im a current customer was able to get it through retentions. I'm located in Texas and for obvious reason, all of the retentions people for my market are located in Mexico. Unfortunately it's going to be hit or miss and it really depends if the retentions person is not lazy because they all have the power to do it. Tell them to do the following.

threaten to cancel. If they say they can't offer you the plan because it's for new customers, tell them just cancel the plan and restart your account as a new customer with the new plan. Tell them they have the power to do this. Escalate to a supervisor if they're not responding.

If you know Spanish, start speaking to them in Spanish. They'll be much more amenable to changing your account when you do so LOL.

I added Xfi complete and they gave me XB3. Upload speed is still 10MBps. Is the upload speed driven by the upgraded area or the XB3/ XB6 , ect? Thanks

I got my install kit today for 200mbps/xFi complete service and was dismayed to see a well used XB3 in it. Went to the local Xfinity store, had a short chat with the people at the front desk and got a brand new XB8 without much fuss at all! Applause
did XB3 give you faster upload speeds than 10MBPS? thnx

Need upgraded area + xFi Complete for faster upload speeds -- the checkout page should've mentioned faster upload under xFi Complete and they would've sent diff equip from XB3 (I got XB6 and someone else mentioned XB7 I think)

i checked that Reddit post and my area is part of the "upgrade areas" but not sure if my actual address is already upgraded. I signed up Xfi Complete, they sent me XB3, and upload speed sits at 10MBps. I was curious if XB7/8 (or whatever will get me faster upload speeds).

Use incognito browser to check your address again for speed package options -- if it shows 2gbps service available then it should be upgraded area

Go through checkout again to see if xFi desc shows faster upload for 200mbps package (don't submit new order)

Did anyone else get hit with a pro-rated cancellation fee? I have not been able to access the old account documents to see the charges/fees and previously multiple agents told me I would get a refund, but now the most recent agent today said since I opened a new service, I am getting hit with a cancellation fee on the old account since it was not a transfer. Guess I will go the FCC route, but curious if anyone is already fighting this battle?
