My wife and I take turns putting the account in our names every 2 years. We just alternate.

You're right. The standard plan doesn't include unlimited data. Most states have a 1.2TB/month soft data cap -- some North Eastern states are exempt from that data cap I believe. From what I understand, users who go over the data transferred per month are given one warning if they go over it the first time. The next months if they do go over the limit, they'll get charged something like $10 overage fee per 50GB, maximum of $100 overcharge fee. See: https://www.xfinity.com/support/a...ceed-usage

However, I am seeing that the Xfi Complete addon is available for $10/month extra bringing the total costs up to $35/month. For $35/month this plan still seems worth it with unlimited data and higher upload speeds (for select regions [reddit.com])***.

If anyone is going with this plan, I do recommend getting this "Xfi Complete" as it unlocks unlimited data caps (as opposed to 1.2TB without it), and it also unlocks upload speeds which for me tested out to be around 115Mbps, as opposed to something much less like 10Mbps without. For me, this add-on is essentially a required item.

For anyone's existing network setup, I actually didn't have to configure and/or make much changes to my network settings either. With Xfinity's gateway, I just logged in and switched to Bridge mode, which essentially made it a modem-only and then connected my router via ethernet wired, and everything worked as per my previous configuration I had with my previous internet service provider.

They're calling to tell you that someone else signed up for service at your address and ask if that's correct and you want to move service/cancel. I answered the call and told them to cancel the service two days in the future (when I expected to already have the new modem activated) and that's what they did.
Any idea what number they use to call?

So I'm a current customer and my latest promotional period ran out. Over the past 8 years, I've generally been able to get xfinity to activate the latest new customer offer through retentions. No luck this time. So probably going to create a new account in my wife's name and sign up for new service, as others have mentioned.

Interestingly, it looks like I'm able to sign up for new service (with new customer pricing) using my existing account if I start the process without being logged in and then sign in to my account at the end of the ordering process. I haven't submitted the order yet and am wondering if anyone has tried this before. I wonder if it would activate the new service and cancel the old one automatically...

I see this on my plan

You will receive a $20 monthly multi-product discount for 24 months if you sign up for Xfinity Mobile and activate a new line with Unlimited Data within 90 days of this order.
Your pricing includes a $10 monthly discount for enrolling in Paperless Billing and Automatic Payments using a bank account.
$82 - $47 promotional discount = $35 less $10 autopay. I am guessing there is no Xfinity Mobile discount and that if I sign up for an Xfinity Mobile plan,, my bill would be only $5 a month after autopay?

Why am I paying for 800mbs but only getting around 200? If I downgrade to 200, will i get less?
I'd generally assume about half of what the plan is and be sure you are ok with that. You can still do a whole lot with stable 100mbps service and 1.2tb a month, especially in a 1 or 2 user home. At $25 a month this is actually a very good deal for a lot of folks.

Have you done it in store? Id hate to go to a store with XB3 , reset all my settings and have them say no

I'm not paying equipment fee and I am getting xFi Complete free . I was going to have Reddit Comcast reps do it but whenever they send me order to review it doesnt mention equipment - I think they are going to F it up

I renewed by Xfinity internet last time with this deal. 200mpbs for $25.
I purchased new mobile phone from Xfinity mobile for unlimited data, with some $500 credit over 24months for S23 ultra 512gb device. My internet bill gets additional $20/mo discount for 24months = $5/mo only. lol
But honestly, The mobile plan is quite high compared to other cheaper provider. Nevertheless I am happy with S23U which has really long lasting battery

It says I have 90 days to sign up for Xfinity Mobile to get the discount but not sure what plan would make sense for an individual. I can jump on a friends plan and get $30 unlimited but then I dont think Id qualify for discount

That what they told me. Over 1 month in, their system sent me the XB7.
With XB3, I got 10Mbps upload. With XB7, over 100Mbps. I have Xfi Complete. Now this is the best $35 200/100 internet deal. lol In avg, my speed test is 235/110.
What do you mean their "system" sent you an XB7 ? Did you request it on the website or it did it automatically?

It's just a line they feed people, they said the same with me. the XB8 is 100% compatible with the 200mbps service.
They were honest with me at least, they said they only give XB8 to people with higher speed plans.

I think the question is this using cable network like normal cable internet. Or is this like 5G mobile network that use wireless.
The assuming is using wired cable network(?)
I think the 10G is fiber.

Also, It's all marketing. Check out this article.

Automatically. When I first got the service, the rep told me 200Mbps plan can only be used with the XB3. Their system won't allow them to order any other modems.

Automatically.
I have been going back and forth with the social media reps trying to get one shipped. Seems like no matter what they do it does not go through.

Have you had issues with the XB7, I see a lot of complaints about the device on the internet

Nope. Zero issue with it as the modem. I have my own firewall and mesh wifi so the built-in wifi isn't heavily used.
The XB7 speed is solid and stable.
