Maybe I'm in the minority but games don't need to be 30+ hour long slogs to be worth buying, this game is absolutely worth $50 even if it's "only" 12 hours.

agreed, the game is fantastic and the remake is beautiful... 12hrs is plenty for a single playthrough, new game plus is always lots of fun with Dead Space too.

these guys should certainly be rewarded for finally remaking this game.

Woke inclusivity (whether people feel it is good or bad) will be what the 2020s will be remembered for. I think about how the 1960s is remembered for civil rights and the removal of "Whites Only" signs in areas of the country that were not on-board with equality.

Back to this topic, I'm hoping for a digital deal since I have a digital PS5. I loved the originals!

Woke is not about equality, but exclusion in the name of equality. As for the game, I don't think I am going to bite as I played the original and my backlog is too large to justify playing a game I already beat just for a graphical upgrade. Too many good games to pull the trigger on a game I played a decade ago.

Agreed. I used to love long, in depth games, but as an adult with a job, family, responsibilities, I'm lucky to get a couple hours a week to play. So a solid 12-hour game will last me a month or two.

And I'd much rather play a tight, enjoyable 12-hours than 36-hours where half of it is filler and running back & forth over the same areas for generic fetch quests.

I read they rebuilt the game and added new mechanics. An example of copy and pasting from is the Last of Us Part 1 PS5 release. That remake didn't incorporate the ability to go prone from part 2.

I feel like it was worth it at $70. It took me19 hours to beat it, i did all the side missions etc. They really knocked it out of the park with the remake.

I still have my original dead space 1 and 2 for xbox 360 still unopened, I never got around to playing them. Would it be better to just play the remake of part 1, or do the original 1st?

i played through the original again a year or two ago on my XB1X, still fun but man was it dated AF... Dead Space 2 still holds its own though, surprisingly.
just play the remake, no real reason to play the original game at this point.
