Maybe I'm in the minority but games don't need to be 30+ hour long slogs to be worth buying, this game is absolutely worth $50 even if it's "only" 12 hours.
Tell us more.
agreed, the game is fantastic and the remake is beautiful... 12hrs is plenty for a single playthrough, new game plus is always lots of fun with Dead Space too.

these guys should certainly be rewarded for finally remaking this game.

Better graphics. Ray-tracing. 60fps standard and sometimes 120fps. Higher standard resolution. More graphics mode options. Not to mention that non-remakes still far outnumber remakes. Your comment is ill-informed.
When the laundry list is that basic, no wonder they can list these at $70 for chumps, id go $80. People running 4k at mid detail lol.

$50 is a slick deal for games now? Wow, inflation has altered people's perception of value.

Just waiting for them to remake perfectly good movies too. Like Titanic or Independence Day, LOL.

I'll pick it up when its $30 or less....its a great game but just like the latest last of us game, I dont think remastering a game should cost the same unless you actually create a NEW game

TLOU1 and Dead Space are full remakes from the ground up. they are not remasters of their original released versions.

the terms have different meanings

Have they said how sales have been for this game? I skipped because I'm not paying $70 for a 12 hour long remake of a game and was hoping sales were bad because of that. Since they did that I won't buy it for $50 now and probably won't even at $40. I would buy at $30 though. They killed hype with the high price and now the next game I'll get is RE4 remake ensuring I lose any interest at all I may have had in buying Dead Space.

I'm sure they're dying without your money.

Hoping these physical sales today means we'll see a digital sale this week. I'd love to bite at this price, but I want digital.

Legit question: why would you prefer digital over physical? You can't resell a digital copy. Do you keep all your games? I typically preorder games, sell them when I'm done, and if I ever happen to want to replay them years later I buy a used copy at a much cheaper price. Just my strategy.

people don't understand what "remake" means and how much work goes into it... they think it's just a texture pack and done Confused

I think you need to learn the difference between a remaster and a remake. They did essentially create a new game with this. This is not a remaster. It's rebuilt from the ground up. The entire ship now connects, instead of loading in different levels. They redid the graphics, lighting, sound and updated the gameplay. Enemies and items have been moved around and the ship has been changed a bit to accommodate it being connected now. A remaster is when they just upgrade the resolution and slightly upgrade textures. It cost them a lot of time and money to make this.

I'm right there with you. People like that, who only buy digital, do it out of pure laziness of not wanting to get up and change a disc. It is such a massive waste of money. You don't own it. After you beat it and lose interest in it and never want to play it again, you've now lost all that money and don't even have a collectible to show off or something that will be worth something in the future. Not to mention it can be removed from the store, never to be downloaded again, which has happened several times. I only buy digital if it's the cheapest version, which is nearly never the case.
