I wonder how good the DAC on this?

Apple's is one of the most accurate DACs according to audiosciencereview.
IDK who is downvoting you but you are correct, the numbers on Apple's $9 adapter are awfully close to multi-hundred dollar hardware.

Check to see if a store near you has open-box. Might be priced as low as $1.99.

Is the volume normal or very low with these like the apple
The volume is only low in the EU on apple ones due to laws.

Apple's Type C adapters are low in volume on some Android devices as well, but these are not those.

Too funny. I was just talking with the wife about how my father in-law HATES his "new" iPhone 7 Plus because it doesn't have an audio jack. 🤣 🤣 We "upgraded" his phone since his IPhone 6 finally died. Apparently change is hard. Lmao

I'm sure if we buy this, he'll complain he can't listen with his headphones while charging. If we buy him the dual lightning/audio adapter, I'm sure he'll complain it's cumbersome. We can't win 😂

In his defense, it really is hard. I hate having to use the dongle. I at least have the option with the 14 pro to charge wirelessly while using a dongle for the audio jack. You should have gotten him a iPhone SE (if the smaller size is ok with him as opposed to the 7 plus) because then it would last him a long time. He is going to be so mad when he has to upgrade the 7 soon.

I ended up buying the Apple adapter last year but this would have been a definite option at this price. The cord looks like it would last longer with constant bending. Having a multi-pack actually is helpful because could just keep the adapter permanently on the headphones.

Yes, if it has the lightning port.

Get 8 plus that offers wireless charging (case can also be fitted with metal adapter ring to support mag safe feature that would keep charging attached) and explain that with some of the models he gets newer radio that supports more cellular channels/frequencies for better reception and faster speeds.

I still have 2 spare iPhone 6 plus's lying around (old company phones I never got round to selling). Just swapped his SIM into the "new" phone and he's over the moon right now that he once again has a working phone and can continue to use his ear phones. I would like nothing more than for him to have the latest and greatest, but alas, change can be hard. If he's happy, I'm happy.
