It wasn't movie tricks. The board they used in the movie was the real one found in an ancient Amazonian tomb. This is just a knockoff. I hear if you buy the collectors edition, made from wood found in the region of the original, that you could conjure some rainforest animals/creatures but the dimensional traveling is unique to the original only.

TBH once you take out the movie nostalgia, not really (also the rules are obviously different...since landing on spaces don't make dangerous animals appear in real life)

The description actually sounds kind of fun to me. I don't know why but I can't see any reviews on that page so I have no idea if they hated the game or the fact that the rules changed from the original game.
