According to what I've read and seen, (1) Dirac live calibration (2)arc Genesis (3) Audyssey XT32
Can you please stack tank calibration.capability of this okyo, Yamaha, denon, matantz ?

I am considering this but I can't get a straight impression on if the speaker calibration is better than Sony's 360 spatial audio.

I would hold out for the Sony measurements and reviews. That's supposed to *try* and compete with Dirac Live's flagship "active room treatment" for a fraction of the cost. This feature is typically only on the flagship AVR's like the denon avr-a1h ($6500 retail). Sony 360 avr's are supposed to be between $900-3300 or so.

I agree it will be interesting how well it works.
If it's anywhere similar, not gonna be worth the difference IMO.

Technically Trinnov would be (1).
Having experience with them, how much better one is to the other will vary widely.

How random, I literally just ordered this an hour ago, but it wasn't on Slickdeals when I searched. Worth noting the reason I bought it at best buy as apposed to amazon is the rewards stuff. was able to use my rewards certificates and earned another one was it was more like $1200. Seems to be the best value for the price overall in the price range compared to the marantz and Denon.

Gonna an eye on it though. Sounds like 2022s are all gonna start dropping in price.

Great price . I would prefer to get it from Best Buy
Be quick to try all the bells and whistles including Dirac which may require some learning because you'll only have 2 weeks. BB's return window for something like this is just plain wrong.

I was going to buy this receiver to upgrade from my Yamaha rx2070, due to this having Dirac calibration. But been seeing a lot of people having issues with Onkyo, so I will hold off an either get an anthem or arcam receiver.
I just got the denon X3800H. Honestly, a lot of it is personal preference - but one thing that is a bit scary about Onkyo is they almost went bankrupt a year or two ago. If they go bankrupt you won't get firmware upgrades, support, etc.

They sold their receiver division to Sharp and VOXX

In September 2021, the USA-based Voxx Group, together with Sharp, had acquired Onkyo's home entertainment business – with all intellectual property rights, product development, sales and marketing. At the same time, Voxx had signed a licensing and distribution agreement with the Pioneer Corporation.

Many have bought the RZ-50 from this thread below and they are also doing it for the same price since this is a Onkyo authorized Dealer sale. However, you will most likely also be able to get NO TAX as they do not charge sales tax to many states! This could save you another $100. My state for example is always charged sales tax but not by them! Also, last time he had fantastic prices on all Denon receivers as well, but I picked up the Onkyo for my use case for Dirac. One I specifically recall was the top of the line Denon A1h which is like $6500, but the call in deal was about $5500 from what I recall( don't quote me on it as it was like 2 months ago but it was about 1K less!) Any ways, I would always check with him on any Denon, Yamaha, MArantz, etc, as I have been able to get the best pricing on anything I have needed on my new HT room from him this past year...

I had the new Sony 5000 for 2 weeks and returned it. First unit had faulty calibration mic and the second unit was so buggy. 360MM adds an annoying hissing noise and make things sound artificial. Wasn't impressed and IMO its overhyped
