The battery life alone makes this the best Apple Watch you can buy. You don't need to be into any ultra activities to benefit from it. Easily get 2 days of use with all features enabled (I don't use cellular) and a few workouts.

There are lots of thing in life that people buy that are useless for a premium. It sounds like you're speaking from a person who never had an Apple Watch nor use it for physical/health reasons. I used to think like you but after getting my first Apple Watch, I realized the convenient it provides me. I can keep my bulky phone at home when I'm at the gym or running errands and it's a backup for when my phone dies on me. I don't have anxiety for a dead phone anymore. I can use it to monitor my heart rates, and my physical well being. For me, my health and convenience is worth the price.

If you use your Apple Watch everyday, this is it. My only regret was not buying one soon. I use it for workouts and sleep tracking daily. The watch feels substantial, too.

Yes it's a lot of money for a watch. Yes you can get an iPhone 14, but the build quality is amazing. I saw a tear down of this and it's a very complciated case design made of solid titainium. The flat screen also is more functional than the curved one on the 7/8.

I came here to say $729 for a smart watch is a bit much...
It's not for everybody, but it's a good value for what it is. It's less money than Garmin's flagship watches, and while I'd argue Garmin's fitness functionality is superior the Watch Ultra is still no slouch and has unquestionably better day-to-day smart watch functionality.

Eh that doesn't really change much. It's nice and definitely an improvement, but not life changing. Let me know when I can go 4 days. I returned my AW ultra and am sticking my 7. The 20 min charging a day vs every other day isn't different enough. But I like the direction.

I have a Series 7 that I charge for about 30-45 minutes in the evening while watching TV. Either gets it to a full charge or close enough to make it until the evening the next day.
My series 6 recharges in the 45ish minutes I get ready each morning.

What's the benefit of getting it from Costco than Amazon?
Return policy is much longer as long as the box isn't opened. Caveat is that the return must be done in store.

For those of you who use Apple Watch for sleep tracking, how do you get by with just one watch? The additional battery life of the Ultra sounds nice, but I find myself using two watches (one wearing, other charging) anyway.
Charging during showers and commute has mostly worked for me on my S4 for about 4 years now. Without a commute it's harder but then I imagine there's enough dedicated sitting time throughout the day to get enough charge.

It's better If you have the Amazon credit card with the 5% cash back

"…for me." You forgot to add "for me". Because "too much" is a matter of what one values, which is a personal decision.

Save your hard-earned tax refund money. This is still overpriced af and almost little to no use case for the casuals.
