There is a setting that you can enable to reduce the risk of burn in. The screen is gorgeous
Yup. Most decent brands will include something similar that does pixel shifting, pixel cleaning or something similar in places to reduce burn-in.

Solid deal. If I hadn't bought a NUC to replace older NUC, definitely would have picked this up for all the additional functionality.

Don't oled has burn in screen ?
This isn't 2017, OLED has come a long way. Burn in is always a concern but chances are very low. Don't keep your brightness maxed out and make sure the taskbar is set to auto-hide and you'll be fine

Ironic that the beliefs about OLED have been burned into our brains longer than it has onto our actual screens.

How does this deal compare to this one I snagged (https://slickdeals.net/f/16469521-thinkbook-14p-gen-3-14-2-2k-ips-ryzen-7-6800h-16gb-lpddr5-512gb-ssd-706-7)? I also upgraded the ram and storage to 32GB and 1TB respectively and ended up with a final price of $798.24 (with student discount).

Not really. You can think of this gpu as a big step down from a 1650 mobile. (https://www.notebookcheck.net/A37...598.0.html)

Edit: I looked into the 3050 comparison, and it may be a better point of reference as the A370m does support raytracing.

Picked one up today, apparently I am sensitive to OLED PWM eye strain. The OLED display is strobing at 240hz, taking a video of the laptop display with my phone's super slow motion mode confirms this. My LCD laptop does not strobe and doesn't give eye strain. Will continue to test for a few more days but probably will have to return this.

Great laptop overall. A few QC issues (mostly keyboard related--sticking keycaps, depressed keycaps, etc...). I would take advantage of one of the even better open box deals, scour the thing with a fine tooth comb during the return period, and if it still looks good, keep if for a song. Wish I had saved the $150 (paid $1,200) or so and gone open box because mine has minor issues but I felt bad exchanging because it was New in Box. I wouldn't have hesitated if it was Open Box.

I ended up buying an open box in excellent condition. I can update after I get it but it is a great deal for the portability and being able to use a pen on it. I will be using it just for work so it should be perfect.

Soldered RAM, yes I dislike it but 16GB is enough for this device or what it's meant for. If it was 8gigs, I would say maybe not.

OLED, what others said. Yes it's still a concern but not as much as before. And if you do worry, add on their warranty or get total tech if you buy a lot of stuff there.

Wife kept bitching at me for having a broken laptop. It's like, "buy your own then". Proceeded to get on SD and was eyeballing lower end refurbs but landed on this. Beautiful screen. Was slow as crap at first and couldn't even play 1080p Youtube but didn't think, duh, it's upgrading in the background. Watching down-converted 4k vids with OLED and 120hz is breathtaking. We'll see how it goes. Maybe pick one up for myself as well. Can't let the Mrs. have better than moi.

Got this second hand on ebay for 740 with the integrated graphics because I was kinda in a rush and this is an awesome laptop, the screen is beautiful, the system is whisper silent and really snappy. Even though mine came with a very annoying speaker issues, where it plays the sound really loud for a second and then lowers to the point where it's hard to even hear in a silent space, I would still say it was worth it. I would definitely recommend paying an additional of 100usd for the dedicated graphics since while it's on par with a 3050, it's still a lot faster than the integrated, but I am fine with the integrated wince I only use for daily tasks. The battery is also really impressive on this device.
