I find that this version of villainous is inferior to the main Disney one because it adds a second resource to the game. That second resource makes the game take longer and adds an unnecessary complexity to playing cards. Because of this, you often find yourself trying to dump your hand because that second resource is only generated from certain cards in your deck. That makes you waste too many turns. On the flip side, they add ships to the game which act as an additional location for you to go and come with various benefits.
Villainous proper can be very lopsided where you know early on that one player is going to run away with it. And as far as a W-L record, I win probably 80% of the time.
For $20, I'd say it's a no-brainer purchase. Everyone should give it a shot.
