Don't do it. Cheap price, cheap materials! The body is all plastic. With heat in a pc, the plastic gets brittle and will crack—I'm speaking from experience. This is a massive design flaw. You've been warned.

Pretty sure I saw this one on Amazon with some mixed reviews. I had considered it last week. Went with a SanDisk instead.

This is a SanDisk. Did you mean Samsung?

Frankly at this price they're almost consumable. My primary concern is speed. It varies so much with thumb drives.

I haven't seen a single usb flash drive deal that hasn't been trashed on Slick Deals. Samsung, Sandisk... Cheap. Expensive. Every single big name brand is crap according to Slickdeals. Good luck finding a flash drive.

If a flash drive doesn't advertise its write speed up front, it is not fast at writes. The good news is here in 2023 even basic drives, like this one I'd imagine, can usually do sustained writes at 15 or even 20 megabytes per second or more, that's enough for a lot of uses.

They all advertise read speeds because read speeds are always high. It's the write speed that you need to pay extra for.

Bunch of dumb boomers posting FUD. I've dealt with 100's of these drives and not once has one broken on me or even so much as cracked. Sure they get hot, but just don't yank them out with plyers and they will be fine.

Same. If you're going to remove it often, avoid. Case is very thin plastic and gets quite hot.

I have the 64gb version. If you just plug it in and leave it, I think it will be fine. However, it doesn't seem durable if you are going to be moving it around. The while think is made out of plastic. The part that plugs into the USB port is very thin plastic.

One of the worst POS USB drives I ever bought. Overheats, lousy performance and fragile...a ticking time bomb. The only good thing I can say is SanDisk replaced the original one (256GB) that shattered inside my laptop but I never use it because it is not worth the risk to my laptop.
