How would I know if my store has the clearance? I am there now, no signs
I checked 4-5 zip codes in different parts of the country. All the same.
How are you guys finding these?
I went to two stores and the employees couldn't find them.

Check brickseek for local store inventory, find a nearby store that shows stock and "clearance " as the price, go to the store and start hunting. Write down the SKU and look in the tool sections for a box that has the SKU on it. It's extremely likely that your store doesn't have any on the floor, and that they are up on one of the shelves. You will not find any at this price online for sure.
Thank you so much. That worked.
If anyone doesn't need extra batteries, you can return them and get part of your money back.

$35.75 for the drill is insane.
The included batteries are more than enough for regular usage
