With gardening season coming up, I was looking for a good deal on garden stakes. This is the best price I've seen for 5' stakes. Usually this is a pretty good price for 4' stakes, so if you're looking for something a bit taller, here's your deal.

Don't forget to click the additional 10% off Prime coupon (if you have prime).

They're plastic coated stakes. What are you worried about?

They seem to be pure plastic stakes.

Not steel stakes with plastic coating as per the image.

Description was confusing to me based on the following info. But one could buy and return I guess.
Package include:
MaterialStick Out Tonguelastic
25 PCS plant stakes

Garden Plant Stakes
HIGH QUALITY:
High quality plastic, never rust, which inside are hollow but very sturdy and durable, can be used for a long time. Attractive Green Color won't come off.

I can't tell you how many steel stakes I have bent or snapped in half over the 10+ years I've had a garden. All the steel ones are hollow and super thin to the point where I wish I could find some solid plastic ones.

I have had steel covered in plastic stakes since the early 90s. A lot of them broke but they are still the best unless you want to buy new wood ones every few years. I get mine from the farm I work at.. The plastic ones bend REALLY badly within a few years.

A 5 foot stake isn't a tomato stake either unless you are growing determinate tomatoes and even then 3.5-4 feet stake (a foot in the ground) isn't that tall.

I just wish I could find something more sturdy then whats out there. Like I'd pay for a solid steel core with plastic coating that costed 2x - 3x if I didn't have to keep replacing them.

As far as tomato plants I have pretty ideal planting conditions, raided beds made of Trex to hopefully last a long time, sun from a hour or so after sunrise until a hour before sunset, filled with filtered top soil that I add 5 - 6 cubic feet of peat moss and other organic material too each year. Things get a little crazy: https://imgur.com/tmCpcXr . Thats a 4' x 8' bed with two tomato plants. I've learned to just keep adding stakes and supports every couple weeks and to just let it go crazy, 100+ tomatoes per plant every year (1 standard beefsteak and 1 cherry usually). I need 6' stakes to keep up with them since 1' - 1 1/2' is in the ground for support

I bought some that were 5 feet, steal with plastic. The plastic flaked off in about two or three years and they also bent under the weight of tomatoes. The best thing is wood, but again very costly as I think they are maple or oak and not pine.

Do you have any issues with chipmunks? I used to grow great tomatoes and then the chimucks took over.

No although we do have deer. I also have a handful of dwarf fruit trees and they have done a number on the leaves. Now I spray a couple times a year with deer and rabbit repellent which works surprisingly good.
