It's also worth nothing that even though Woot is owned by Amazon, their return process (while not all that difficult) is a little annoying. Last return I did, I had to email them and wait a couple days for them to send a return label. It wasn't as simple as Amazon. Might not matter, but I'm also not sure what occurs during that lag (i.e. any review of return reasons, item consideration, etc.). Also, I'm not sure if their return process varies by item, but I suspect not.
Looks like these are Costco returns. Costco had this model on sale for $1399 recently, so $999 is a decent price, but I wouldn't be surprised if these hit $1300 or lower at Costco this year. The 16GB model is $999 at Costco right now, which might be good enough for most people.

Some of the reviews at Costco are concerning, so buying this refurb from Woot is going to be a bit of a lottery since this is not a manufacturer refurbished product.
I have the 16gb version of this. I personally love it. The biggest gripe I've seen is thermal issues. I haven't encountered it but I also was proactive and opened it up, repasted the CPU, removed tape that was blocking a portion of the vent and added thermal tape to the ssd, and ram when I was in there adding a second ssd.

If you're comfortable with computers it's very easy to do. The display is gorgeous and the anti-reflective coating is a big improvement over earlier years.

I was looking at this at Costco the other day, and the flex from the keyboard and the plastic surrounding it was crazy! This PC felt very cheaply put together for the price it was at. To folks wanting to buy this computer, I would highly recommend checking this out either at Costco or Best Buy before committing to it.

I concur with this; it may be a deal breaker for some people. It was a tossup between this with the rtx2050 or the Legion slim 7 and I went with the Lenovo. To be honest I love the Legion; screen is bright, keyboard is very good, but it's still a little heavy for travel imo and even with getting the AMD and a lower wattage gpu the battery life is not ideal.. I think at this price point I might be willing to try out the LG Gram since the Lenovo isn't working out as a good travel computer (Though fantastic for at the office).

As a dissenting opinion, I think the flex is not at all concerning and just a consequence of the magnesium alloy and thinness required to get the weight down and not an indicator of cheapness.

For a while we have been conditioned to think that heavy means premium and high quality, especially on the smartphone world where reviewers are obsessed with heaviness which led to phones backs being made out of stupid fragile glass. Even the iPhone Pro models are made with a stainless steel frame instead of aluminum for no other reason than to add weight. Personally I can't even use the iPhone Pro models because the weight cramps my hand with extended use.

I'm glad that LG decided to buck the trend and just make the gram thinner and lighter. This is the lightest 17" laptop by a very wide margin and if you're looking for portable big screen productivity for office, school, or coding there's basically nothing that even comes close. This has the same weight as most other manufacturers 13" or 14" laptops.

I literally just bought the 16 GB from Costco but now I think I'm going to return it and get the 32 GB.

How would this compare to a Dell FHD+ XPs 15 9520?

Since Woot allows returns, you could take a chance on getting one that is essentially new. If you get a dud, you can return it.

Given Costco's generous return policy, many of these laptops were probably bought on impulse to secure the black friday price and returned within the 90-day return period when the buyer decided they did not really want it.
