Some of the reviews at Costco are concerning, so buying this refurb from Woot is going to be a bit of a lottery since this is not a manufacturer refurbished product.
If you're comfortable with computers it's very easy to do. The display is gorgeous and the anti-reflective coating is a big improvement over earlier years.

- Same price of $999.99 but models are not exactly the same as the WOOT version has 1TB SSD and 32GB RAM vs Costco only has 512 SSD and16GB RAM
What's to be noted per LG:
"The RAM is soldered in to the board and can't be upgraded"
That was the clincher for me to go with this WOOT one.
Thanks OP

No. RAM on this is 100% soldered. A few years back they had one free RAM slot. That stopped with this version or the previous. I forget.

I bought one from BuyDig the 17" refurb and it arrived used, not refurb...
How do you define refurb?
Refurbs are used products, the refurbisher goes thru the device cleaning, making sure everything works, if something doesn't they'd replace the part with one that does. The device should operate as if it was new, they'll usually include a short term warranty in case they missed something. End result gives the buyer a working device as if it's new, but a decent discount saving them some money, due to it being second hand.
Obviously buying a used product, no qualified or experienced person has analyzed it and you don't get that backup plan that warranties offer if something goes wrong.
The best refurbisher is the original manufacturer, ie Apple. Whereas many on eBay are just Joe Schmoes who refurbs things, their experience and expertise as well as source for replacement parts is unknown, which can result in a lower quality product than one that's from the original manufacturer.
