It's most likely the Costco model. I got one of the HP Envy refurbs back in early February and it was the Costco model sold by a liquidator on the east coast. Mine had no marks or signs of use. The bottom case wasn't snapped together correctly, but it was easily remedied. It also ended up with a full year warranty according to the HP site, as well.

OK deal. For reference, there was a Vivobook 14" for $650 after Affirm offer during Cyber Monday week. Same cpu and graphics, albeit smaller OLED screen.

thats actually not how it works. you have 2 banks of ram on this maching, 8gb soldered and 32GB in a dimm. since the banks are not equal dual channel will not work. If you rip out the 32GB dimm and replace it with an 8gb it would be dual channel

I thought that asymmetrical RAM banks under most recent Intel chipsets worked in the flex mode so that, in this model's case, the first 16GB [8+8] would be in dual channel, and the remaining 24GB would be in single channel, unless the chipset in this model does not allow the flex mode at all. If the latter is the case, the entire 40GB would run in single channel.
