Not really a picture frame, is it?

That's a big price drop and long sale. Wonder if they're discontinuing it or coming out with new model soon.

i don't think you can add a picture on this. it's basically a thin rectangle speaker that looks cool on wall
Some links have been shared on other threads of a European company that sells custom 'wraps' than shows off your own photo/design

I'd also love to know
No such thing as front surround sound outside of sound bars with Sonos; although beta testers supposedly have access to software that supports front L and R speakers. Maybe we will too someday!

Are these good for front surround? I've seen posts they can be used for rears. Was just curious.
No, they cannot be used for front speakers in a surround sound setup, only rears.

Sonos ha no discrete L/C/R options, except for maybe the Sonos Amp, which allows for L/R/phantom Center.

Probably not. Don't these only link up with the sound bars?
Sonos doesn't support front surrounds. However these function independently of sound bars, can be stereo-paired too, just like any other Sonos speaker.

Can anyone share their experience as to how these compare to a Play 5? I'm considering swapping out 2-3 Play 5s around the house with stereo sets of these. Would a pair of these sound comparable to one Play 5 or would they sound far worse?

You know how there are higher quality solid wood furniture and then there is IKEA furniture. That's kind of how Sonos vs Symfonisk speaker are. If you just want some mid-fidelity speakers with different mounting options and still have connectivity to your Sonos ecosystem then sure go for Symfonisk. I'll take those play5 off your hands.

I cant imagine that these would sound better than a play 5 because of the bass.

Here is a review from the verge that says they are about on par with a sonos one:

https://www.theverge.com/22573890...ker-review

"Since they cost the same, you might be wondering how the picture frame speaker compares to the Sonos One speaker in terms of sound quality. They're actually remarkably close in performance. It feels like that's the measuring stick Sonos uses for the Symfonisk line. The bookshelf speaker was 80 percent of the way there (for much less money), but the frame speaker is basically on par with the One — despite the latter having more depth to work with. There's enough bass to give music the oomph it needs, but your walls aren't going to be rattling at normal volume levels."

That's almost certainly a downgrade, and not sure why you'd want to shell out additional money when you already have the 5s.
As far as stereo- I have a pair of the ones in stereo-mode. The stereo effect is nice for certain music but you do have to be sitting in the center of the 2 speakers to really benefit from that. If you have a room designed for listening in a single spot, then maybe, but I spend most of my day off on one side of the pair rather than dead center. Sonos kind of shine for just ambient background music anyways, and I don't typically think, let's sit down in the center of my setup and just listen to music. (I have better headphones for that)

Thanks! I was able to call IKEA (888-888-4532) and get a quick price adjustment from the $194.99 sale a couple weeks ago.
Thank you! I'll need to do this too

With the release of the new sonos 100 w/ bluetooth capability, it would make sense that the next gen of this ikea speaker would also include the same. With it being kinda long in the tooth, I wouldn't be surprised if the next gen isn't to far down the pipeline. I truly just need a solution for the hanging power cable. I'll probably install the same solution I have for my mounted TVs.

Yes can be used as surrounds. Comparable to Ones in sound. Some like them better.

A lot of what you are paying for with Sonos/Symphonisk is their software that supports multiroom audio and streaming over wifi. I'm sure you could DIY something similar, but it wouldn't integrate with the Sonos ecosystem.
