I'm led to believe that this is not a random orbital buffer, but a rotary polisher that you can vary the speed on. This has a bigger backing plate as well. Random orbital buffers are a bit safer for paint, especially when you're an amateur and a buffoon like me.

Deal is dead within 5 hours. I've been looking to buy this exact polisher since last summer at something less than the regular 270-300 price.
Polishers are great on bringing old paint back to life. Orbitals are better for light polishing and for wax

There were some stores in TX where the MSRP was labeled lower, so the deal ended up being around $150, which is absolutely a deal. (Just checked, Fair Ave HD in San Antonio)
It wasn't easy but after talking to HD customer service I got them to price match and ship to my house about a month ago.
