Unfortunately that's pretty standard for any automatic chrono, especially one using a valjoux or ETA off the shelf movement. If you want a thin Chrono you should be looking for manual winds

42mm is reasonable for a chrono but 15.65mm thickness is yikes. Don't wear this with a jacket or long sleeve

Yup, the rotors take up a lot of room.

Does anyone have any images or comment on the visibility of lume? I am a fan of tritium tubes but would like more feedback.

Ball watches are very hit or miss when it comes to quality. I've seen some very nice ones and other ones with very rough jagged edges you wouldn't imagine would be on a "luxury watch."

My daily is a Ball that I actually got on a slick deal here. It's an Expedition 1917 with a domed glass. Love it.

You are right, that is true to some extent. However, it's not impossible to have a "thin" chronograph.
A Rolex Daytona is less than 13mm. In addition, the high quality Daytona replicas made in China (which actually costs more than this watch) is also capable of being less than 13mm.

Tudor BB chrono is about 14mm.

Bought one a few years ago on a steel strap and love it. This is a great deal at this price.

You should not be paying THAT much for a Chinese replica!
