Wired one is also $99 - and has variable speed trigger. In my experience Bosch makes a great jig-saw

Almost all 5 star reviews seem to state otherwise. Bosch makes some of the best tools in my experience. This one seems to be one of them!

It has a variable speed trigger but no dial. The motor is adequately powered IMO. I've had this saw for 5-6 years and have had no issues controlling the speed.

Is this a good deal? Doesn't even come with a battery, thought jigsaws are usually around ~$50.00?

This is a good Jigsaw. My only complaint is the lack of variable speed dial, but the trigger speed control is very good. It has plenty of power. I use mine mostly for wood, but have cut pretty big holes in 16-18 gauge steel, and have also cut 1/2" copper flat bar just fine. The fact that it's not brushless means that the trigger has better fine speed control than most variable speed triggers on similar brushless jigsaws, but for metal, I wish it had a way to limit the speed with a dial. At $70 this would be a no brainer, but value at $100 if you aren't in the Bosh battery system already doesn't make sense.
