I actually decided to paint a car myself, because I'm insane. After a ton of research I actually ended up buying a really good gun etc. Job turned out amazing. It was a full 3 stage job. Then the Kirker paint failed a year later. Lesson learned. Buy really good paint if you're bothering to do all the hard prep work. That job is one I will never forget. Also one I would not like to repeat.
Sorry for the rant.
I painted private jets on and off throughout college. Used everything from DeVilbiss to these purple HF guns to pressure pots. Just painted an old truck and my boat with these purple guns and they came out great.
This is NOT a clear coat gun. It's not advertised as a clear coat gun. So if you tried to shoot clear with it that's your own fault. Also you don't need "really good paint". Some Nason Fulthane and this gun will make some quality paint if you have any ability to read some data sheets and watch some YouTube videos.

Get 2 or 3 if your serious. Get a piece of paper and test the fan on 2. Best fan spray gets the job.
Great little wand. Make sure you have good ppe. My biggest issue is runs, which is user error. No orange peel and sprays more than good for a diyer

The purple gun is pretty well known to be a quality disposable gun. Clean the shit out of it before you use it, they're caked with oil to prevent rust out of the factory.
