Anything where done roughly is ok. Don't plan on painting a car with it. Lol.

I actually decided to paint a car myself, because I'm insane. After a ton of research I actually ended up buying a really good gun etc. Job turned out amazing. It was a full 3 stage job. Then the Kirker paint failed a year later. Lesson learned. Buy really good paint if you're bothering to do all the hard prep work. That job is one I will never forget. Also one I would not like to repeat.

Sorry for the rant.

These guns are perfectly adequate for painting cars. Just because you messed up your first spray doesn't make this guy any less quality.

I painted private jets on and off throughout college. Used everything from DeVilbiss to these purple HF guns to pressure pots. Just painted an old truck and my boat with these purple guns and they came out great.

This is NOT a clear coat gun. It's not advertised as a clear coat gun. So if you tried to shoot clear with it that's your own fault. Also you don't need "really good paint". Some Nason Fulthane and this gun will make some quality paint if you have any ability to read some data sheets and watch some YouTube videos.

He's getting downvoted but he's right. Quite simply if paint failed a year later he didn't prep correctly.

Agreed, these are far better than they should be for 10 bucks. Easily one of the best HF purchases I've made.

I am not a professional. But I do have a fairly large air compressor and use this with their in line pressure gauge to spray my project cars. Just panels and a few engine bays so far.

Get 2 or 3 if your serious. Get a piece of paper and test the fan on 2. Best fan spray gets the job.

Great little wand. Make sure you have good ppe. My biggest issue is runs, which is user error. No orange peel and sprays more than good for a diyer

Yes certainly. I've finished some cabinets with this spray gun and am very happy with it. And compared with other guns I've had, it cleans up pretty well. I have a 10 gallon compressor. I did buy an additional regulator to use with it also at HF.

@slaveforthewave Can you tell me if this purple HF gun will shoot single stage urethane car paint well?

They're disposable. Eventually they'll leak out of the needle seal. I keep the pieces in a bucket for back up and just grab another. But that'd probably after a half a dozen assemblies and cleanings. I've drilled old tips out to shoot high build primer or gel coats.

The purple gun is pretty well known to be a quality disposable gun. Clean the shit out of it before you use it, they're caked with oil to prevent rust out of the factory.

I've sprayed many gallons of 2-part clear coat with this gun. (PPG JC660)

Lays out just fine.
