Agreed that this deal is not for everyone. But if you 1) have a way to spend the virtual visa cards, and 2) can earn a decent cash back or bonus by purchasing the virtual visa cards, this would be a good deal.

If you have Capital One credit card, you can earn 5% statement credit from giftcards.com. You must login to your Capital One bank/credit card account, click on 'Credits for Shopping' link at the bottom, search for giftcards.com. Then click on giftcards.com link, an offer details window will display. Click on 'Continue to Merchant' button, you will be taken to giftcards.com. You must click on 'Continue to Merchant' button in order to earn 5% statement credit. Of course, you must pay with your Capital One credit card.

Please notice this 5% statement credit offer is not the same as Capital One shopping - which does not require you to pay with Capital One credit card nor to have a Capital One credit card. And the cash back from Capital One shopping can be used to redeem for gift cards but not for Capital One credit card statement credit.

I did this deal with Capital One credit card statement credit offer twice in the past and I got my statement credit both times around 45 days after my purchase. And the statement credit is in addition to my regular 1.5% cash back on Capital One credit card.

BTW the $75 cap is for the total discount - meaning you can buy maximum 6 of $250 virtual visa cards.
I see 4%, so I guess ymmv? Still a good deal for paying my $750 water bill!

I've used these visa gift cards in the past to pay power bills, target.com and amazon. I do a gift card reload with Amazon for $250 and use it up in one shot.

And even NY state tax portals work too. So if you factor in the discount + the cc rewards + the tax fee, you can actually come out ahead.

$250 is also a good maximum since it sort of automatically approves you so you can buy another card. If you buy a card over $250 then you have to wait for manual approval which can take a day or more. This is according to what I read elsewhere, not my own experience since I just want a fast transaction that I can repeat and take care of using the card all at once.

They just have to manually enter the numbers in on their machine.

I bought one on my new Chase Ink Business Cash card.
I had $250 left on my credit limit for this statement period.

I normally use my 2% Fidelity Rewards Visa, and the savings end up being 4.67%
I use SwagB$ portal and that adds another 1%. They give me 1% on the discounted $237.50.

This, it's a pretty decent deal if you have a Cap1 card and their merchant offer for Giftcards.com available. It's about 9% off including the activation fee after the 5% coupon and total 6.5% CB from Capital One.

EDIT: Assuming you get the max value $250 gift card of course.
I had to call Capital One for my November and December shopping trips. They all had the notation that Giftcards.com said the purchases were partially cancelled/returned and were marked "Adjusted."

Cap 1 is giving me the credit but just be aware that the site is doing that. Card Cash has recently denied shopping trips as well.

There are three types of visa cards listed on giftcards.com with fees, as follows:

Visa: $150-250, Fee: $4.95
Virtual visa account: $150-250, Fee: $5.95
visa eGift card: $150-250, Fee: $5.95

Can someone explain the difference among these three types? I see no explanation on giftcards.com.

This promotion code can be used sequentially, more than once, for a number of $250 cards, within the time period specified in the promotion, 03/16/22 – 04/06/22, right?

Can you actually reach some live person associated with this site, via chat or phone?

They can be difficult to use, but I've had luck using the cards through PayPal (wherever PayPal is accepted) and adding any remaining balance as Amazon GC. I've used them with bills, too.

Still, it's much more worth the effort if you are getting additional cash back and you get many of them at once.

From what I can see, you can add the card to venmo, which treats it as a debit card charging no money to send, and send it to yourself/spouse in another account. Am I missing anything as to why this might be a bad idea?

Some Citi cards like Double Cash back might have 1.5% C.B through Merchant offers on citi site.

This is AWSOME - If you have Citi Shop Your Way Mastercard and spend $750 or more on-line - you get 100,000 points = $100

I did it with this offer and it worked great.

I'm seeing 3% CB with Capital One Shopping Assistant plug-in and 4% CB via the web link. Could it actually be possible to get 7% CB total on top of the site discount on these?

Whenever these come up I buy a egift card and prepay my cell phone bill. This is one of the few ways you can save money on cell phone service.
