Your question leaves out so many variables. Are you talking about in your RV or camping? Then yes, this is a good choice.

For your home?
If you want to power some small things for a few hours on the first night of an outage, yes.
If you're in a multi day outage and want to use things in your home, no.

You can power a normal size fridge for about 7 hours, but if you mix in using a microwave or coffee maker, using lights, having a modem and router running with a pc, you're looking at like 1.5-2 hours, maybe slightly longer if the sun is shining. If you're going to run a typical space heater, MAYBE an hour of juice. The problem is if you are using this during the day, it simply won't recharge fully and when the sun goes down you are not going to make it with lights/basic electronics for more than a little bit.

The efficiency rating of this setup is absolutely horrible, like 55% if I remember right. so for every 1000w you put into the battery, you actually are losing 450W because of the very poor battery bank. Lithium ion batteries are normally in the mid 80% efficiency level, but because of how wasteful the charging unit is on this unit, you're going to lose a bunch of that juice. Most quality pieces are in the 73%-89% range. Look up Solar RTE, or round trip efficiency .

As stated above, if this is used every once in a while as a battery bank that you are charging from the sun, it's not that bad of a deal, but if you think this will get you far during a power outage, especially if you are in a cold climate, you really need to buy something quality.

It is not a bad deal, but not as good as the Delta 2 with 220W bifacial panel during President Day sale for $1039. This old Delta model has much shorter warranty (2yr vs 5yr) and much shorter battery life. The Delta 2 alone was $800.

I recently got the delta 2 + 160W solar bundle for the same price, just in time for the storm that knocked out our power for a couple days. While I understand the advantage of LiFePO4 in delta 2 over the delta 1300, 20% more capacity does make a big immediate impact during a long power outage. Thinking to get in on this deal. Thanks OP.

Agreed with you on the LFP keyboard warriors, this is a decent deal for 1260Wh of capacity

The Delta 2 (~1000 Wh) + 160W panel was available last year for $900 on wellbots. I would avoid buying from Ecoflow on ebay, they have some scummy practices

How did you get the 629.30 price for the standalone 1300 unit? It came out to $749 with the ECODELTA150 code. Thanks in advance.

if you look at my post quoting another post, the code mentioned by the prior poster, was AFFDELTA30. i see now that since my post they ended the promo for just the 1300 and with the panel. you could on-line chat with them and just ask if they'll honor it since it was in your cart over the weekend and now the code won't work. all they can say is no. good luck.

i see it's now $899 w/solar and $749 w/o, with your code.

the wellbots sale is now working again. see screenshot. you need to use the links in my prior note, to get this pricing. they have several links for the 1300 that don't discount this way.

UPDATE: see this thread for an ecoflow store ebay refurb delta 1300 at $425. https://slickdeals.net/f/16528345-ecoflow-delta-portable-power-station-1260wh-certified-refurbished-river-series-1-476?attrsrc=search%3Aterm%3A1260Wh+EcoFlow+DELTA+Portable+Power+Station+Generator+(Refurb)%7Csearch%3Apage%3A1%7Csearch%3Aposition%3A2%7Csearch%3Aresult_type%3Athread%7Csearch%3Aresult_id%3A16528345&src=SiteSearchV2Algo1

Asking as a n00b: is this all I would need to keep a few smaller items powered in an outage? And what kind of things can it easily handle/what would be pushing it?

Good deal. I have the Costco deal for the Goal Zero 1000WH and 100W panel from a few years ago that was $1000.

As noted above, unless you plan to charge these from solar, think long about it. It's expensive to 'fill' these from a wall outlet. I plugged the goal zero into the AC when I first got it, and got a utility company notice that my bill was going to be much higher due to significant increase in usage.

And you HAVE to charge these every ~3 months or so. They also should be stored at room temp, not out in a garage or outside.

We get 1-12 hour outages here a few times a year. What I have will cycle my refrigerator and my gas furnace, and run the whole house fan overnight. That's all I need.

My next car (2-3 years out) will be electric and have an interconnect with the house to use the cars batteries for storage and to run the house during an outage. The Ford Lightning has this capability now, and I'd expect it to become standard.

That will run a household for a few days with moderate usage. So we can factor in the cost of whole home battery backup towards the purchase of a car, and see what it costs to add solar to that around the same time.
