Similar experience with multiple other brands. Very cheap/thin plastic usually, doesn't hold up well. Just taking it apart and putting it together multiple times strains the connectors enough to crack. Add any real force or children being rough with it and it's done.
Probably could DIY one out of PVC that would be much stronger, but given: even the materials to do so would cost more than this

I had one of these and it broke on the first use. The connectors can stand the tosses by adults.

I made maybe 12 of these in a youth activity a couple years ago out of PVC. It was more expensive than what this is on sale. In for 7 sets, will save me time from chopping up the PVC and drilling holes in golf balls. We'll see how it goes.

I would suggest glueing the set, it's good for a summer .

I bought an equivalent set from Sam's Club a while back and one point I haven't seen made is that the bolas themselves are incredibly cheap - the rope connecting them frayed on all six pairs within six months. So don't go into this deal thinking you'll be able to use for more than a season or two.
