I need WiFi extender which input Internet signal vi WiFi but output via LAN ports to connect my old TV which has only LAN port.
I used it as an access point, or wifi extender, in my shed where I have some exercise equipment and a Roku TV. The Roku TV is about 125+ feet and thru 3 walls from my main wifi router (ASUS RT-AC68U) in my house. The shed Roku will connect directly to the ASUS router, but throughput is very sketchy. Before putting the Wavlink in place I tested throughput with the Netflix channel network checker and got 0.6 Mbps. I then connected Roku thru this Wavlink device (which I had already setup as an access point using wireless 'Wisp' mode) and I got 6.1 Mbps. Next day when I did some exercize out there Roku still connected and got 9.0 Mbps. Similar for tablets and phones, some of which won't even connect directly to the main router.
Time will tell what the long term reliability of this Wavlink device is. One of the main problems I've had with similar devices is that they would sometimes 'forget' their configuration and I'd have to reconfigure them periodically. If this one stays working with no more maintenance than an occasional reboot I'll be thrilled.
