I have a kitchen scale that I use. 1.5oz of dish soap + 0.5 rubbing alcohol (this is roughly 3 Tbsp of soap & 1 Tbps of alcohol), then fill with water. Add 0.5 oz of soap for stronger soap, or subtract 0.5oz for a less strength but more savings. After ingredients are added, gently agitate the bottle from side to side, or turn upside down and wait for the soap to release from the bottom. I usually make mine before bed to let everything dissolve, but it's usually ready within an hour. If you use it too early, it will be too thick to spray.

I will note that I use dawn platinum to make mine. The recipe should stay pretty much the same with other soaps, but it may not have the same potency.

Once you buy this kit, there is no reason to purchase the refils. They are just overpriced DILUTED Dawn! Some Dawn, rubbing alcohol, and water do the trick for about 25cents per refill. Search for Powerwash on YouTube or Google.

I tried to do the DIY home made version but it didn't come out correctly. Hardly any foam and smells like alcohol. I think the recipe was wrong 😑 any one can provide a tried and true recipe?

Another homemade formula: 1 tsp citric acid, 1 tsp baking soda, 2 oz Dawn Platinum, 14 oz water. Mix together in a separate container. The baking soda will foam at first, but then it calms to nothing.

Citric acid, like rubbing alcohol, also cuts the foaminess of the Dawn, but it adds cleaning power, and it's far less noxious. I didn't think the alcohol did much other than helping mix the Dawn and create vapors.

My main way to test is with coffee and tea cup stains. Other than bleach, citric acid has proved to be the best cleaner at removing those stains, so I figured it would also be good in the homemade refill formula.

was able to get 1 + 3 refills on amazon S&S for $10.85 after coupon and 15% discount , another option for some
You paid more per bottle and have Amazon ready to take your money if you forget
$10.85/4 = $2.7125
$7.98/3 = $2.66

Is there a need to get this in the first place? Genuinely curious
yes, it seriously works great! I try to buy items with the least chemicals possible but I make an exception here. A couple sprays, wait a few minutes and BAM! pans and more are so easy to clean.

I started using this to wash and degrease my motorcycles. This stuff works just as well as the "motorcycle specific" cleaners like S100 and others and is 1/4 the price. Never going back!

But it's $2.57 for people that have prime and an Amazon credit card.

I suspect that the kitchen scale is broken. I've tried twice but still can't use it properly. I'm planning to buy a few more bottles and a new kitchen scale.
