Does this work with AV equipment!? I have the Yamaha TSR-700, which isn't the friendliest piece of hardware in the first place… imagine this would sit between the receiver's TV OUt and the HDMI IN on the TV, out using using any of the device's HDMI INs?

It does work with AV equipment. Keep in mind the refresh rates limited by this device though.

What lights are folks using with this?

Not sure whether to go with the strips or the standalone lights.

Buy a standalone Roku device?

For a less cheeky answer, any of the devices that use cameras would work. There's one linked on the first page (Govee).

All the Govees do, and I haven't found one that matches the color well unless you use it in a dark environment. Even a little light from a lamp throw the accuracy off completely

What I really want is a native ambilight TV.

I'd ditch my LG OLED if Philips would just release their premium OLED tvs here in the states.

A TV like this would make a sync box almost redundant.

This. Plus mine has issues where the input goes out or get static images and I would have to power cycle the sync box. Pretty annoying when it happens and it could happen within seconds of powering it on for the first time in the day. Have tried different cables, different inputs, and factory resetting but no dice. When it works, it's nice tho.
I have the same issue. Tried different cables, messed with settings. Sometimes it's flawless. Sometimes it never works. I finally unplugged it and just the play bars as back lighting.

When this first came out it sucked. All kinds of issues. I now use it everyday with my Xbox Series S connected to my pc monitor. Works pretty damn good nowadays and I love the immersion it brings to my gaming.
