Th Bluetooth has been a. Major frustration for me as well. I still have it, haven't gone through the effort to return and find something else but can confirm the Bluetooth is trashā sometimes I have to power cycle to get it to work. Intended on linking Spotify asI have this setup for gym and this would be a fine workaround if WiFi works.. will use it for video to tv at some point- not sure I care much about ARC for my use. Sound is fine. My old denon 3400 sounds better, but it isn't a life altering difference.
So now I don't know what to do. Seems like these discounted AVs from costco are mostly crap. We get what we pay for???
Wasn't in the market for a new receiver but I started having HDMI sync issues between my Benq V7050i and Xbox Series X as well as my 4K APTV. Would get a black screen with "no source detected". Thought it was maybe a cable but noticed it would finally sync after a restart of the PJ and receiver. Figured didn't have much to lose in trying Onkyo out. Glad I did. Problem went away.
That said, I do have some major issues with it and may return it.
Chromecast with Google tv plugged into the "strmbox" port loses 4k after a couple days. To get it back to 4k I have to go into the receivers port settings for strmbox and change it from 4k enhanced to 4k standard. Then I can change Chromecast to 4K30, and when I change it to advanced again I can select 4K60.
PS5 flashes to my LG OLED screensaver when booting up several times over about five seconds, and does so again each time you exit, close, or open any game. This port is set to 8k enhanced and I have an HDMI cable with the newest spec attached to both the TV and receiver.
Not a single firmware update has been released for the receiver in the last six months since I originally purchased it (the last update was maybe just before I purchased it, a little over six months ago).
My first Onkyo. At the time I bought it, the Onkyo was a clear cut winner compared to the Denon at the same price point from Costco, and probably still is... But if I plug all of my video sources into the TV to use the receiver anyway there is no point in using this over my 2017 Denon, I can live with with the reduced sound quality until better models are released or issues are addressed with current models.
Earc works pretty good with LG 65" c1 oled
Besides the video issues seemingly plaguing this device and not seeing a firmware update in over six months, this thing is fantastic; though I admittedly have yet to use a whole lot of features on this thing and very well could run into more issues.
If you can hold off, I would. The price is too high to be having the issues I'm having. At $250 I'd put up with them, but not $399.99. 2023 should hopefully stabilize the market more for receivers and finally get updated models out at reasonable prices. Maybe not, we'll see. Until then I wait.

Hoping for this too. I really want that Denon.
I replaced them (I had 2) with the Denon 960 model. Flawless ever since. After going through the audio setup process (pinging sound from all the speakers a few times with my sub and 5 speakers attached) the sound is flawless. Even better, I paid $249 at Costco. I think the sub sound is better with the 960 vs. the Yamaha.
I've not tried this particular Onkyo model in comparison. However, it's a competitor to the above Yamaha and Denon models in similar price point; I would expect very similar performance.
The benefit of buying at Costco is easy returns; if there's an issue, one just returns it, gets the money spent back, and can then buy something else (or not, as they desire).
Man I'm envious lol. I got the 960 about a year ago and have the same issues you were having with this unit. Home theater PC connected to RTX 3080. Occasional black screen, requiring turning the receiver off and back on. Sound drops for two seconds every ten minutes or so while watching or playing anything Atmos enabled. I've learned to just ignore the issues, but it's still wonky.
Ironically, didn't have those issues when I was using my AMD RX6800XT. But, for whatever reason freesync was disabled in Radeon settings when using the av receiver as a passthrough. Maybe I should try swapping out sometime soon and see if that's been updated.
Using 85" Sony X91J for TV
eARC is just intermittent, you have to turn off the entire system and then turn devices on one by one.
Worst is when you turn on gaming (tried PS5 and Xbox X) consoles, it will act stupid.
Chatted with Costco few days ago and they said to bring it in for a refund.
Thinking about picking up a Denon.
