I'm just trying to help, and I don't know your exact situation, but here is some info that might be helpful:

Its possible to use international eSIM services like Airalo, which I've found to be inexpensive and reliable for international travel.

Depending on your needs, you can use Airalo in the 2nd eSIM slot of your iPhone. Then If you set your iPhone to only use data from that 2nd eSIM, you can get incoming calls on your primary US number, using the data stream from the 2nd eSIM for the call.

This setup will actually be WiFi calling, not airtime calling. On some US phone plans, this won't trigger international call charges.

Again, I don't know your exact situation, but there could be some possibilities for you with this route. Anyhow, I hope this helps someone out there who only has a dual eSIM phone…

Again, just trying to help…

EDIT:
If you want to know exactly how to do this, let me know and I'll post it a bit later once I'm at my computer where I have that exact "how to" info saved…

1 - Turn ON wifi calling on SIM1
2 - Turn OFF data roaming on SIM1
3 - Set SIM1 as your primary voice
4 - Set SIM2 as your primary data source
5 - Disable the cellular switching

Whenever not on wifi, this setup will piggy back off SIM2 cellular connection as WiFi calling. This also works on iPhone 13 Pro Max using physical / eSIMs

Apple Support mentions DUAL SIM usage here:
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT209044

Scroll down to "Learn about Dual SIM status icons"

I hope this help!

Mint 100% supports eSIM. I've been using a 14 on Mint since release.

Great deal. I tried to hold out for a Costco deal and ended up purchasing the same phone two weeks ago, 256gb, in purple, with Apple Care+, unlocked directly from Apple (using it on VZ). Bummed I missed this deal.

No, they have to ship it to the warehouse first.

It's already mid-cycle. Just wait for the 15 unless you want the lightning port.
Thanks!

How does this beat prior offers and tmobile BOGO 700$ if you plan to with someone
Bro, carrier deals are usually alot more expensive if you do the math. Unlocked means you can switch carrier anytime or cancel whenever you want to. There is no such thing as "deal" from carrier. They will most likely lock you in for two years and you have to get the plan "they" ask you to get which makes it uber expensive.

So what's the rationale for having the 14 esim only in the USA but not in Europe where it's more widely used when most of the carriers in the USA besides the big 3 don't support it

Which countries that has no issues? Probably only singapore, thailand, and malaysia. Try indonesia, myanmar, burma, vietnam or china, no e sim supported.
Indonesia supports eSIM if you go with Telkomsel. https://www.smartfren.com/en/expl...exclusive/

This is actually kind of funny - I'm sitting here in Munich at the Hofbräuhaus Biergarten reading this. Not knowing how to deal with the esim situation I also stumbled upon Airalo. Way cheaper than Verizon and works perfect! Definitely prefer this over the old school SIM card methods.

There are some citi cards that still offer extended warranty. Citi premier, citi rewards+ to name a few. I converted my citi dividend to citi rewards card for extended warranty.
I wish this was more visible in the thread. Citi ended the extended warranty benefit on the COSTCO CARD, not their Premier card (not sure about the others but I'm 100% on Citi Premier still having 24 months of extended warranty)
