It's not just Dewalt, all of these hood lights are unreasonably expensive. My hood isn't magnetic, so that route is out. I'm considering a string light on a bungee cord. For the most part I've been using a headlamp for such tasks, which is much cheaper and takes up less space.
If you have this, what's your kid gonna do now?
All of dewalt's lights seem unreasonably expensive. I used to be all black and yellow but bought a couple ryobi items and now they are the majority in my workshop. People can say what they want about them but they fill in the gaps and have a lot of niche tools (my son's baseball team loves the bucket mister in July). Especially their led lights. I bought a huge 3 paneled flood light that can tripod mount, the light linked below, and a 10" chainsaw for less then one of dewalt's lights.

I bought this light for a few reasons and I haven't tried it yet for under the hood but it might work. It is a bit heavy but will rig up a way to hang it.

Actually with how many random tools Ryobi has (floating Bluetooth speaker, floor dryer, so many glue guns) I am surprised they don't have a under the hood light like this.

What's this for? The hood of your car? I can't picture it. 😅

It hooks to the underside of your hood when it is open so you can see what you are working on.

I believe it could work for your interior too. Both doors open and hook to roof

It doesn't work off of a magnet. It has two hooks with rubber on them that hold onto your hood

Get some Christmas lights and wrap them around your hood

I bought the Craftsman version when it was sale . It is a really nice, BRIGHT, well built and versatile light. It doesn't have that cheap junk feel like the Harbor Freight ones.

Even if you're worklight in daylight, it just lights up all the shadows in the engine bay. Or you can fold it up, turn on one side and light up a wheel well . I like it and use it way more than I ever thought I would, even for non-car stuff.
