I recall a deal around the same time I think for a pack for $100 at Best Buy with a $50 GC. I bought two packs

I'm waiting for Philips to release a damn hue sync that is hdmi 2.1 for all the latest specs
I don't have a time machine, but almost two years ago exactly I bought this set from Costco for $100 after their discount. Was marked as $150 normal price then. Now 2 years later, for the same product, it is saying these are $170 normal price and $130 after the discount. meh
No (imo) but they're much cheaper. Here's a video that shows both on screen at the same time.

Are these bars better than the strips for a TV setup?

This along with gradient strips are specifically the type of thing the app was put on the tv for.

From the manufacturer website: "The Philips Hue Sync TV app is available on 2022 and newer Samsung QLED TVs in the Q60 or higher range (support for Q700 coming soon)."

If you want the complete suite of smart lighting features — such as controlling your lights away from home, surround lighting, automations, and more — you'll need a Bridge.

Yes, I'm aware of what the app is available on. The app has been working great for me so far. The reason I asked is I wasn't sure if these needed to plug in for a signal or if they work as stand alone hue lights. Sorry, for the confusion.
