I own this printer. It was my first one. Overall, a great printer. Especially at this price. I think I got mine for like $280 on Amazon. I've upgraded the V wheels and added a PEI sheet and it's awesome now. Print quality is fantastic. I still want to upgrade it to Klipper/wifi.

Just mentioning the Elegoo Neptune 3 plus and max models are back in stock. Slightly more money but they are very well built and have all the upgrades you would like on a large 3D printer.

I got the Prusa Mini exactly for same reason. I wanted a printer that don't need much tweaking or messing with a whole lot. Mini is a small printer but very solid. I bought the one that was partially assembled for a little bit extra money. I figured it was worth the money for the time I would save putting it all together myself.

If you really want to get into 3d printing, the Prusa is teh bets you can get. This company, FYSETC is a popular replacement part maker for those machiens, and they offer a full clone that gets you 90% of the way there.

Only parts that aren't great are the heatbreak (get an all metal E3D heatbreak) and the extruder gears (get genuine bondtech) but I just got a kit from them this week, and the drive gears actually look as good as the ones on my PRUSA so maybe they've adressed the issue. It also came with a bi-metal heatbreak that doesn't look bad, and is better than the one in all teh reviews, but I still recommend a genuine one to avoid clogs.

Anyway, their clone runs the real prusa firmware, has 49 point auto bed leveling, and works the same as a real one. It's a little more than the one in this thread, but it will be vastly more reliable and be a real workhorse.

That's the Genius model, different printer but a FREAKING STEAL at $115.
I have the Genius and I have no hesitation recommending it, great printer.
Does it require any mods/upgrades?

Would the X2 be good for brand new noobies? I'm pretty handy and can pick up stuff pretty quickly.

3d printing as a whole has a learning curve for sure, but these machines are really good right out of the box once you get them setup. I had a Tevo Tarantula back 6-7 years ago and that was a PITA, the Artillery has Just Worked since I got it, very little muss/fuss.

If you only need a 220mmx220mm build surface. I would get this. $115 for direct drive and dual z. Excellent printer for that price.

back in stock but the coupon shows fixed price $250.
still seems like a pretty good deal. I was thinking about getting a Neptune 3 Plus but it's still out of stock and $100 more unless they run a coupon/sale. Presale was cheaper but only for a small number of units.

edit: it says Presale. I ordered, will see.

Bought that $115 3d printer from 3dprintersbay.com last night and UPS already has possession today. Looks like I got lucky? Payed with PayPal and was willing to wait for the $115 price deal anyways.

Nice, it really is a steal of a printer price . if I already didn't have a Voxelab Aquila of the exact same size, I would gamble on that one also.

I would recommend a magnetic PEI sheet as an upgrade. Around $30 for a 310x310mm one. Just much more comfortable than the textured glass print bed to get prints off.
