I just use posts and lattice, cut to custom lengths. 6' 4x4 wood posts on metal spikes (I don't even dig for light duty items like that). I leave a few feet at the bottom open and plant tomatoes and peppers and let them climb the lattice. Neighbors kids quit bothering us finally. Hey Mr. Bob, what you doing? (Obviously I'm cutting the grass, but I always tell them I'm baking a cake). We actually have a 4' regular fence between the yards, but due to hoa regs, can't go 6 on that fence. So I just lattice in the patio on one side.

most people use this to cover outside hvac units, not for trash cans. but there are short trash cans that some cities provide (instead of the regular big ones).

mine is city provided and they are the regular big ones. my HVAC is also big but it will barely cover it. I'm thinking of getting a fence now Big Grin

Not only are these good privacy but good for protection. I always said I was gonna buy some of these and didn't… and then ran something over with the lawn mower and hit my ac unit. Caused $1000 worth of damage to a 2 year old unit.

I have the worst luck. Gonna order these.. cause.. it can't ever happen again… right? Lol

Maybe they didn't design it for your trash cans. Mine are 36" tall so these would hide them nicely.
