Biggest disadvantage is dual band.

Is this suitable for home use? What is the difference between a business mesh setup or regular home use? It seems like Netgear targets this towards business.

Yes, you can use it for your home. this pro version got 4 SSIDs, most home does not need that many, in a business standpoint you want to have a secure network, your customer can access one SSID that does not come across your business network, so they can't see the internal documents (example), you can also set up a SSID for admin, that way only approved person can access (IT support), if you also have security camera or security monitoring system for your business, you can set them in the separate SSID too.

A few questions for anyone who might know:

1) Does anyone know how reliable this is based on actual experience?

2) Can OpenWRT be loaded on this?

3) Does this support a wired backhaul?

Thank you!

I'm using it right now and it's ok. It's been pretty reliable, but setting that satellite and positioning it was the finicky part. Not putting it in a good spot makes it so that when devices connect to it keeps disconnecting. The fact that it says its a good connection in the admin page doesn't mean shit. Right now I have it where it just says fair and it's rock solid now that I found a good spot for it. Speeds are ok, but my internet is only 200mbps down and I'm getting that full speed. It has pretty decent range and the 2pk was enough to cover my whole place (2 stories, 2500sq ft home, 6500 sq ft lot) I get good signal on the 2.4ghz all the way across the street.

The insight app is trash. There's 4 SSID and different vlans, but I'm just running a single to keep it simple. For some reason I can't adjust the 5ghz channel at all. It's just stick on 157 which is congested to hell where I'm at.

If I were to do it again, I'd probably spring for the ax5400 tbh. But this is cheap and does the job. Due to some restrictions here, I think it's a good compromise for something I didn't want to invest too much money in. Our place has a family of 4 all wfh with meetings and whatnot. Once I got the satellite in a spot it was happy, no complaints at all from the other 3 lol

TP Link Decos have been excellent. Have the XE5300 3pack paired recently with the X60s.and they are solid. I have a 3500sq ft home, but my walls are thick and get poor reception outside on the 5300 Even though they are rated for 7ksqft. The X60 also are rated for that distance.

The X75e models that TPLink and Costco sell are very good at going through tough walls. I got their refurbished 3 pack for 199 on their ebay store and its been great

I'm not familiar with these mini Orbi systems. What differentiates this from the regular, non-mini AX**** models? For instance, Best buy sells the AX4200 2-pack for $400. But Amazon sells the mini AX5400 for $230. Similarly, BB sells the AX6000 for $565, but amazon sells the mini version for $330.
