This seems to be the lowest for a 1000mb 2tb drive. Considering pulling the trigger as I need a portable hardrive to download pics and videos from the family phones to when on trips. This seems like a great option?

Write speeds reported by Windows during copying of multiple files are far, far below the numbers given here. I'd say comparable or even below what I get with WD external HDDs. That's with a USB-C connection.

I believe your laptop or desktop just needs a USB 3.2 10GB compatible port to get the maximum speed.

This one has a 5 year warranty and has some water resistance unlike the Samsung which only has a 3 year warranty and no water resistance on the standard T7. The T7 is cheaper if you buy it from Samsung and use an education or work discount. I ended up getting a black T7 direct from Samsung for $125.99 and can pick it up at Best Buy.

They changed the price back to $139.99. It was $149.99 when I looked yesterday, you notice the poster directly above my post had the same price I did. Who knows why they keep changing it, but yes, it's back to $139.99 for now.
